Finance Manager (1-Year Contract)
The Office of Finance (OFIN) supports the University in planning and executing sound financial management in fulfillment of the University’s mission; implementing and maintaining a robust financial framework that supports management in effective decision-making; providing fiscal stewardship of University’s resources; and ensuring financial governance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
This incumbent will be working in Centre for Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) and reports to the Finance Business Partner.
Responsibilities:
Reporting and Business Partnering
· Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to key stakeholders
· Collaborate with internal/external auditors, policy holders, OFIN, grantors, shared services personnel and stakeholders from various schools and colleges
· Track, consolidate and review financials from multiple units in order to accurately report university wide KPIs on monthly and quarterly basis
· Timely reporting to grantor on grant utilisation and projections as stipulated
Internal Controls and Audit Management
· Participate in internal and external audits, ensure timely submission of grant audit reports and set up mitigation measures/key controls to minimize risks
· Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and regulatory requirements, promoting corporate governance and responsible resource use
Finance Operations
· Lead and oversee the finance team, ensuring smooth daily operations and compliance with payment and collection policies
· Work with grantor, shared services team, OFIN to facilitate grant claims
· Maintain accurate journal entries and allocations. Reconcile accounts and provide analysis for the organisation’s financial transactions
· Work with finance share services to ensure revenue billings and payments of invoices are promptly processed and accurately recorded
· Review revenue and profit sharing methodologies prior to processing payments to internal and external stakeholders
Budgeting
· Manage the annual budgeting exercise and mid-year budget
· Handle budget-related matters such as appeals and virement within the budget constraints
Others
· Work closely with the Finance Business Partner on strategic business projects
· Other ad-hoc duties assigned by the Finance Business Partner
