Job Title: Static Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location: Central Reading
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, between 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (No On-Call Required)
Salary: Up to £38000 based on experience
We are a leading retailer, committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers. We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Static Multi-Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join our dedicated maintenance team at our flagship store in Central Reading.
As a Static Multi-Skilled Engineer, your main responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation and performance of all building systems, including electrical, mechanical and HVAC equipment, carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- To oversee the general maintenance and repair of the site, including electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems
- Undertake regular planned preventive maintenance and complete the appropriate paperwork and reports
- Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and domestic electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring
- Carry out inspections and testing of electrical systems
- Ensure that all work is performed in a timely and professional manner, adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Respond promptly and efficiently to any maintenance call and provide excellent customer service to the store's personnel
- Liaise with and oversee third-party contractors as required
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in a similar role within a commercial environment
- A strong electrical background is essential (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or equivalent is required)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Competent in mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Excellent fault-finding skills and ability to solve complex technical issues
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build relationships with staff and third-party contractors
- A strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations
- Self-motivated, reliable and able to work independently
