What You Will Do:

We are looking to hire a professional Human Capital Business Partner to focus and collaborate with the teams in Utrecht, Netherlands (circa 60 people).

The ideal candidate will be able to ‘roll their sleeves up’ and immerse themselves in the day-to-day human capital requirement for the Utrecht office. Whilst being mindful that we are a global organisation of 17,000 people and therefore ensuring that the global policies and procedures are also considered. 

You will provide support to management and employees with engagement programs, performance management, operational excellence, run the local internship program and legal compliance. The role requires the candidate to be the main liaison to the Works Council in the Netherlands and be educate others within the business of what is required.

What You Will Need:

Business Partnering

Act as a business partner and advisor local management and employees on all HR related matters.

HR operational excellence

Manage and coordinate the local HR administration and payroll requirements together with the Senior HR Associate and support from our centralized HR Operations team and Payroll team. There is a big focus on automation and leveraging capabilities of Workday and other systems. Set up and improve the efficiency of HR-related services and policies and analyse trends and metrics.

Employee engagement

Performance management

Talent acquisition and development

Drive and optimize the attraction, development, and retention of talent in partnership with local management and our centralized Talent Acquisitions and Learning & Development team. Ensure that consistent processes, on-boarding and training programs are used across the business.

Collaboration with Works Council

Cooperate with the works council with a focus on advancing the implementation of the global and country company policies, systems and tools. Participate in the conception, negotiation, introduction, and implementation of works agreements in close collaboration with the HC HRD.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Preferably, educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge and experience and are looking for a second or third career step in HR. You have solid HR generalist experience, with business partnering experience.
• A thorough background in HR processes impacting the Employee lifecycle
• Solid basic knowledge of individual and collaborative labour law and ideally you have partnered with a Works Council.
• Demonstrated success in managing HR Programs in a matrix and global business environment.
• Outstanding communication, coaching and influencing skills.
• Positive minded and looking to contribute to great team atmosphere.
• Thrives by working across the international organisation, sets own agenda and has solid time management skills.
• Strong command of the English language and excellent knowledge of the Dutch language

We are looking for someone to join our International Energy Providers market team in the Netherlands as a Managing Consultant.

Your work will focus on strategy and business transformation engagements supporting electricity and gas companies in the Netherlands, and across our European offices. Our clients are TSOs, DSOs, energy providers, O&G companies, as well as other players across the regional energy value chain.

Your work will focus on diverse topics and assignments related to energy strategy, low carbon energy solutions (e.g. renewable electricity and heat, low carbon fuels), electricity and gas infrastructure and markets, and business transformation.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Working with regional and international leadership to grow the energy providers practice in the Netherlands, with a particular focus on regional energy companies, through

  • Engaging with potential clients to understand their key challenges and needs

  • Defining a compelling value proposition aligned with the client’s needs

  • Supporting development of client sales opportunities, focused especially on integrated energy companies but not limited to this

  • Collaborating to build compelling new solution offerings that resonate with target clients

• Delivering successful consulting engagements by:

  • Project managing multiple consulting engagements of varying complexity

  • Completing engagements at or above targeted profitability through effective management of project scope, client expectations and team productivity

  • Generating new and unique ideas and using solid judgment to determine which ideas will have greatest likelihood of success

  • Being an effective part of the local team while engaging with international teams and networks for subject matter experts

  • Playing a key role in the execution of innovative solutions and application of technical knowledge and best practices

• Mentoring and managing local junior staff

What You Will Need:
 

• Based in the Netherlands

• 8+ years professional experience either in professional services, strategy, or management consulting or with an energy company or other large energy player

• Demonstrated experience positioning and delivering consulting or business solutions

• Business case or proposal writing experience including budget development

• Strong communication, writing and presentation skills

• A critical thinker with a strong eye for detail and creative in problem solving

• A team-player who demonstrates the willingness and ability to work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels

• Willingness to travel internationally where possible

• Ability to work fluently in English (written and spoken), preferably Dutch too (written and spoken), and any further languages lead to recommendation

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Local professional network of decision makers across energy companies

• Experience working with energy system value chain actors (TSOs, DSOs, energy providers)

• Knowledge and experience in industry topics such as: renewable energy, energy infrastructure, electricity and gas markets/trading, low carbon fuels (e.g. hydrogen)

Your work will focus on strategy, business, and technology transformation engagements supporting commercial energy, power and utilities, and public sector clients in the Netherlands and internationally, as they navigate the transition to net zero and a sustainable and resilient future. In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

• Working with regional and international leadership on business development activities to grow the energy providers practice in the Netherlands – including preparing and delivering pitches, responding to client queries, RFP support and delivery, anticipating client needs and identifying options and solutions for future work;
• Building effective relationships with clients and potential clients in the sector;
• Engaging with existing and potential clients to understand their key challenges and needs;
• Defining a compelling value proposition for projects aligned with meeting or exceeding the clients needs;
• Acting as a thought partner and SME to client;
• Leading a team of consultants with differing levels of skills, and experience a team in both day to day situations and on a matrix basis to enable collective problem-solving;
• All aspects of engagement management and resource management for large, complex projects;
• Business modelling and analysis; strong numerical reasoning and quantitative skills;
• Hypothesizing solutions frameworks using modern thinking and insights;
• Synthesizing multiple inputs into coherent insights across a variety of formats; slide decks, written narrative, playbooks, dashboards and toolkits;
• Mentoring and coaching local junior staff to enable them to perform at their best and grow their knowledge through sharing of expertise

What You Will Need:

• 7+ years of experience in strategy or management consulting with the ability to demonstrate sufficient depth and breadth of consulting expertise through multiple project lifecycles
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience positioning and delivering business and / or technology transformation engagements in multiple project lifecycles
• Business case or proposal writing experience including budget development and managing proposal timeline with multiple subject matter experts supplying input
• Experience in Energy consulting, and exposure to CAPEX/investment decisions
• Solid verbal communication and narrative development skills, with the ability to summarise and convey key insights from analyses to senior audiences
• A critical thinker with a strong eye for detail and creative in problem solving
• A team-player who is willing and can work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels
• Willingness to travel internationally where necessary
• Ability to work fluently in English (written and spoken), including a track record in the delivery of presentations and proposal materials to English-speaking clients.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• MBA or other Master’s degree in Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Business is preferred
• Experience in H2 or Offshore Wind PMO consulting
• A demonstrable professional network in consulting including client side stakeholder networks, and peer networks within the management or strategy consulting industry
• Ability to work fluently in Dutch (written and spoken), including a track record in the delivery of presentations and proposal materials to English-speaking clients.
