The job plan is anticipated to contain 10 programmed activities, 8.5 PA's of direct clinical care and 1.5 SPA's per week. You will be required to work across Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon. Travel between sites will be suitably reimbursed. We are open to consider alternative job content on a personal basis. You will be joining the Consultant rota on a 1:7 weekend ward rounds as following consultant of the week model. Currently, there are no on call commitments; however, it is expected that the cardiology team moves towards providing 24/7 cover. You will contribute to general cardiology services including outpatients clinics and inpatient ward work as consultant of the week as well as reviewing outlying patients with cardiac conditions. You will share responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service ad participation on strategic planning. You will be expected to attend the multidisciplinary team meetings and the clinical governance activity across the directorate. Teaching and training junior members of staff are essential to your professional activity as well as participating in continuing medical education. Main duties of the job additional: As a Hamwic House Band 6 you will be expected to undertake audits to ensure patient safety and clinical quality and be proactive in initiating changes to improve the service. You will be the team leader of a small team of nurses, HCAS, and housekeepers by completing annual appraisals, supporting training needs, and being involved in management processes. As well a managerial responsibility as a cancer care band 6 you will be expected to carry the cancer care staffing bleep. As the bleep holder you need to ensure safe staffing levels across the inpatient wards and outpatient units and problem-solving issues as they arise. In this role you will be supported to continue your professional development through courses both in-house at UHS and outside the organisation, and offers the opportunity to prepare for future career prospects in management, CNS or ACP roles. Applicant must have completed their systemic anti cancer treatment qualification and be confident in delivering SACT. Enthusiasm and motivation for working in cancer care and interest in developing in this speciality. IV skills including cannulation and phlebotomy. Excellent communication and time management skills. Able to recognise deterioration in patients condition and escalate successfully and initiate further interventions. Able to work flexibly to meet shift pattern requirements including long days and weekends

To act as an intermediary between the bereaved and clinicians to establish and resolve any concerns relating to a patients death. Work with medical examiners to aid them in their responsibility for overseeing the death certification process for all deceased patients in the organisation. To establish the circumstances of individual patient deaths by performing a preliminary review of medical records to identify clinical and circumstantial information, sourcing additional details where required, for scrutiny by the medical examiner. To assist in highlighting cases for assessment by the Structured Judgement Review team (SJR), Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP), Clinical Governance teams and the Learning Disability Review Teams (LeDeR). To refer patients to the coroner for further investigation on approval by the medical examiner Maintain an awareness of the diverse needs of users of the medical examiner system to ensure equality to any particular group defined by sex, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender reassignment or disability. Discuss proposed causes of death with the qualified attending practitioner and advise about coroner referral. To have a good understanding of medical records and disease pathology. To be able to provide advice on terminology and causes of death, and to explain these and the Medical Examiners rational to Coroners Officers, Doctors, and those with no medical understanding. To have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable with working with those who have had a bereavement. CLINICAL To provide a psychology service to the community rehabilitation team including assessment and therapy both for individuals and groups as appropriate. To provide a specialist consultancy service to the community rehabilitation service and other agencies providing care for the client group.
