The Role: We have several opportunities to recruit enthusiastic and committed Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (Trainee PWPs) to join our expanding NHS Talking Therapies service operating across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. In this role, you will provide Low Intensity interventions whilst undertaking the Post-Graduate Certificate delivered by the University of Exeter commencing in March 2025.This training post will equip you to provide Step 2 Guided Self-Help Low Intensity Interventions to clients with a range of common mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression, for which CBT interventions are demonstrated to be clinically effective. You will be joining a motivated workforce and will be supported in the completion of both your academic study and clinical delivery by skilled and experienced supervisors. This role will be offered on a permanentcontract. The role typically comprises 3 days per week undertaking clinical practice with the service and 2 days per week attending university. University days will be hybrid training of a combination of remote and face-to-face teaching in a Bristol based location. The role is likely to include remote working but attendance at one of the BNSSG offices will be required at least twice a week. Skills and Experience: Essential: Undergraduate degree or evidence of previous successful study at Regulated Qualifications Framework Level 5 or Level 6; Evidence of one years working experience in settings with high exposure to people with mental health difficulties. Evidence of interpersonal skills to engage and develop working alliances with colleagues and patient. Evidence of an openness to learning new knowledge and skills. Ability to work under pressure. Excellent administrative and time management skills. Flexible and able to provide one evening shift (12-8pm) as required by service needs. The post holder will undergo training, to gain a sound knowledge and understanding of the International classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, 10th revision (ICD-10) and OPCS- 4, clinical coding classifications, anatomy and physiology and medical terminology. To ensure that clinical coded data is entered accurately and appropriately into the Trusts computer system for every relevant patient care episode, with required deadlines as agreed with the Trusts commissioners. Liaise with appropriate staff, with any queries arising Document coding problems and queries for their Divisional Lead, and/or Trusts coding trainer, who will then submit any unresolved queries to Delen, National Clinical Coding Helpdesk. Attend all national, local and in-house training sessions/relevant workshops and seminars, as required. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all Trusts policies at all times. Ensure adherence to national procedures and guidelines for clinical coding and follow any local policies. Organise own workloads and work as part of a team, to ensure complete and accurate coding, with the Trusts monthly deadlines within framework denoted by Divisional Leads. Ensure that incomplete coding due to outstanding histology results, is checked and completed on a regular basis, in conjunction with their Divisional Lead, to ensure accurate and completed clinical coding in a timely manner, as required. During the initial training period to work towards meeting individual and overall department key performance indicators (KPIs). The post holder will be expected to achieve department KPIs within agreed timescales and support. The individual KPI will progress over the first year, to achieve 30 spells coded per day by end of year 1. To undertake the 21 day Clinical Coding Standards Course, within 6 months. To successfully pass the Trusts in-house clinical coding exam and audit assessment after 12 and 18 months to check progress and readiness for the NCCQ. As part of the departments wider clinical coding audit programme, the post holders coding will be periodically audited for completed clinical coding episodes, as part of ongoing data quality assurance within the department.

During clinical placement the trainee will undertake psychoanalytically orientated clinical work with children, young people and families 0 to 25yrs They will be able to offer consultation to other agencies working with children and families They will take part in the generic work core work alongside the locality CAMHS team They will offer to work with parents and members professional networks around a child. They will be able to offer some teaching and supervision.
