Main Responsibilities 1. Strategy, planning and business development Support Collaborate with the Operations Director, Medical Director, and practice partners to develop the practice strategy and business plan. Openly engage with the Millway Practice Supporters Group (MPSG) and patients generally. Ensure that the practice complies with NHS contractual obligations in relation to patient care. Routinely monitor and assess practice performance against patient access and demand management targets. Coordinate and deliver an effective complaints management system and embed learning into practice operations. 6. Human Resources Oversee HR processes, including but not limited to, recruitment, induction and onboarding, staff development Ensure the practice is adequately resourced, with effective workforce planning to meet current and future demands Oversee the maintenance of staff HR records including but not limited to, employment contracts, job descriptions, appraisals, DBS, immunisations, indemnity, licencing registrations etc. Ensure the Practice is effectively resourced to meet current and anticipated work requirements. Oversee the development of tools within EMIS and associated systems to improve efficiency and support clinical and non-clinical teams. Set targets and monitoring standards for data entry and data collection. Ensure that the practice has effective IT infrastructure including data security, back-up, maintenance, and disaster recovery plans in place. Manage the delivery of practice reporting and the submission of required returns. Manage the on-going development of systems to underpin the standard operation of the clinical services and supporting business activities. Liaise with the GPIT or the ICB regarding systems procurement, IT funding and national IT development programmes. Ensure the maintenance of the Practices website and all other communication channels. 9. A. Management Accounting and Financial Management. 1. To ensure the provision of a management accounting service that is agreed and acceptable to both the Chief Finance Officer and the Director of Operations. 2. To ensure the team provide monthly statements and other relevant financial information to the Division's according to agreed timetables, together with appropriate interpretation and advice. 3. To ensure monthly reconciliation of budget adjustments are provided by the team. 4. To analyse and report significant budget variances and unit/activity unit costs to both the Head of Finance/Assistant Director of Finance Financial Management and Director of Operations and to discuss with the Directors and Division's Managers, remedial actions where appropriate. 5. To hold regular meetings with the Director of Operations and/or Divisional and Service Managers in order to identify and provide the required financial management support. 6. To work closely with other finance teams and the Division to produce forecasts of expenditure and income. 7. The Training and Development Manager will be responsible for the provision of professional training, including PMVA. They will lead a small team of trainers, undertaking and coordinating training needs analysis, maintaining accurate records and fully documenting relevant syllabus, training schedules, lesson plans and ensuring an auditable rationale is available for everything that we do. You will ensure training materials are reviewed and developed to uphold and promote a recovery focused approach and will draw upon their own lived experience when producing and delivering training. The Training and Development Manager will promote positive understanding, awareness, and attitudes towards mental and physical health as part of day-to-day duties. They will ensure a psychologically safe environment for the staff attending training, providing emotional support to staff who may express/exhibit emotional or psychological distress pre and post training as well during training. You will assist in signposting individuals who may require immediate support outside of the training environment and escalate any issues that may affect the efficient delivery of the training along with identifying and addressing additional learning support needs that learners may have to enable them to access and complete courses. It is expected that the Training and Development Manager will maintain a database of potential learners and attendees for the courses as well as capturing and reporting course feedback and key learnings. Business development is an important part of the role, identifying opportunities to extend the training provision and portfolio to the Trust and other NHS Trusts. The core function is to deliver PMVA related training, but appropriate and related schemes will be developed to support QEF and the Trusts staff.
