Role Overview:

As a Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of software development, from gathering requirements to implementing and supporting business-critical solutions. You'll work with modern technologies to create seamless online experiences, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver projects that meet technical and business objectives. You'll have time to develop high-quality software and be encouraged to explore new ways of working.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain web-based and business applications using modern technologies and best practices.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver high-quality solutions that enhance customer experiences.
• Develop, integrate, and maintain systems including websites, membership, and CRM platforms.
• Ensure robust testing, documentation, and troubleshooting of systems.
• Lead the integration of third-party systems, ensuring smooth business operations.
• Apply Agile methodologies to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
• Support and mentor junior engineers and inspire new approaches to problem-solving.

Person Specification:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience developing web-based solutions that meet business needs.
• Experience with the .NET platform, including C#, MVC, .NET 8, and Azure.
• Proficient in RESTful web services, APIs, databases (MS SQL Server), and writing unit tests.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming, SOLID design principles, and Agile development.
• Desirable: Experience with Sitecore/Umbraco CMS, Microsoft Power Platform/Dynamics, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Microsoft Graph, OAuth, and payment platforms.
• Passionate about learning, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively under deadlines.

The position will be based in Cardiff, with the option to work remotely 4 days per week and 1 day per week required to be in the office.

Pay rate is £16.66 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• The role may not contain direct line management responsibilities however, as a Senior Operations Analyst you will be tasked with the day-to-day management of the operation and co-ordination of Operations Analyst tasks.
• Review and make decisions on data sets and subsequent payments across the Delivery and Schemes portfolio of environmental schemes.
• The use of Delegated Authority to make decisions on behalf of the organisation.
• Input into strategic management plans and delivery.
• Continuous improvement and capability building of processes and individuals both in direct and indirect team structures.

Tasks:

• Manage the day-to-day outputs of the team and yourself.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex and challenging tasks.
• Manage a multi-disciplinary caseload whilst contributing to the wider teams' objectives.
• Lead on complex and challenging issues managing risk leading to strong outcomes.
• Report management information and tracking to objectives as an individual and from a team perspective to managers and senior managers.
• Collaborate with relevant teams across the organisation to ensure effective processes are in place.

The successful postholder will spearhead the development and execution of a sector leading technology curriculum, with a particular emphasis on the new Advanced Technology Centre campus.

Reporting to the Principal, you will design and implement an innovative curriculum tailored to meet the demands of both employers and local communities. This curriculum will serve as a cornerstone in the college's mission to equip both young learners and adult professionals with the skills necessary for the rapidly evolving job market

Key responsibility of the Assistant Principal - Engineering & Technology
* Lead and assume responsibility for devising and executing an innovative technology curriculum, embracing the latest advancements in industry and technology
* Collaborate with employers to create suitable technical pathways and deliver commercial training programs.
* Create offerings across all levels, with a special emphasis on apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships.
* Collaborate and develop strong relationships with local and national employers
* Ensure that the campus is appropriately resourced to deliver high quality teaching and learning and ensure that robust quality assurance procedure
