- Obtain health and occupational history and determine if health of employee is or will be compromised by the functional or environmental requirements of job.
- Determine and order tests appropriate to job-hazard, health history and occupational history and interpret results. Discuss findings with employee and initiate follow-up if needed.
- Provide advice, instructions, CEU/CME classes to supervisors, management, peers, and patients on aspects of Occupational and Preventive Medicine.
- Provide health assessments for replacement, retirement, disability, and job-related medical surveillance and make recommendations for proper placement consistent with job requirements.
- Conduct spirometry pulmonary function tests, hearing and vision screening tests and interpret results. Refer to appropriate specialty if needed.
- Conduct studies and surveys of work sites in coordination with OH supervisory staff and IH team.
- Assist with the medical fitness-for-duty program in coordination with Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC), union representatives and related personnel and provide data to Department Head.
- Plan and aid in the implementation of a wide variety of health maintenance programs and medical surveillance screening.
- Supervise two employees and perform personnel administrative and management tasks such as leave requests, address job performance deficiencies and disciplinary actions, create performance plans and fill vacancies.
- Perform a variety of automation duties that include all the functional aspects of the automated occupational health surveillance system. Produce statistical graphs, tables, trend analysis and a variety of reports.
