This is an exciting opportunity to join the Midlands Nursing Directorate and the Policy and Strategy Team as the Regional Chief Nurse Information Officer. This is a permanent post at 1.0 WTE and at a band 8D.
The post holder will help develop an effective strategy bringing stakeholders
together to support development of a digitally enabled workforce which encompasses the varying needs of systems. Working closely with colleagues across the sector.
The postholder will supportthe professional, clinical leadership of digital transformation, with a specific focus on enabling improved clinical workforce digital literacy. Providing expert clinical advice and guidance to local systems in the delivery of priorities identified within the NHS Long Term Plan (Digital First), working with partners at NHSX, HEE and across local systems in the region.
Promoting innovation and championing the development of a clinically appropriate information culture across the region
This Regional Chief Nurse Information Officer role is an integral part of the regional nursing and midwifery management and leadership team at NHS England working with the regional Chief Nurse, Regional leadership team, statutory partners and the local health economy.
The postholder will act as a regional point of contact and offer expert professional advice and guidance to system and provider nursing digital leads.
They will also work as part of the Policy & Strategy team championing the digital agenda within programmes of work such as: EDI; N&M Greener NHS; N&M Excellence; Research & Innovation; Quality Improvement; Professional Leadership & Development.
Key duties include:
Support, develop and grow the regional CNIO network to determine system requirements and drivers around their digital ambitions and identify what this means for the clinical workforce in terms of capability, culture and infrastructure.
Drive the strategy for clinical digital enablement, supporting and ensuring alignment to the NHSX What Good Looks Like Framework (2021) with corresponding organisational and system success measures
Engage with key strategic regional and national policy makers to inform development of future strategy and policies, including the educational needs of the clinical workforce.
