You would be responsible for:

Managing and supporting a small credit team, promoting team effort and reviewing efforts during regular meetings across divisions.

• Oversee credit limit changes and ensure adherence to the Credit Policy.
• Prepare and present reports, metrics, and recommendations to senior stakeholders for visibility into collections performance.
• Provide consolidated reporting to finance and business stakeholders for informed decision-making.

Another key part of the role would be to monitor and maintain the relationship with the outsourced credit team. Ensuring the responsibility for agreed actions, organising meetings and coordinating problem-solving solutions.

• Monitor BPO O2C performance metrics and KPIs to ensure service quality, delivery efficiency and policy compliance.
• Create a continuous improvement pipeline for O2C process improvement and optimisation within BPO operations and work with the partner to deliver these.

Additionally, you would be responsible for implementing and monitoring the credit policy. You would be looking to drive procedures and strategies to minimise risk to the business.

• Develop strategies to enhance collection performance for strategic customer accounts using best practices.
• Work with Finance to ensure an effective month-end close with clear ledger quality, provisions, and cash flow/collections forecasts.
• Collaborate with Internal Control to apply and improve collections and cash application-related RACMs.
• Support internal or external audit requests

The ideal candidate would have:

• Strong credit management skills, previously shaping credit control strategies and implementing improvements
• Ability to build and develop relationships with stakeholders. Maintain and branch relationship with BPO
• Great understanding of the order to cash processes and cash application connections
• Strong analytical skills interpreting data processing and excellent communication to provide enlightening recommendations and suggestions.
• Proficient in MS packages and additional financial systems.

Preferred but not essential:

• Chartered Institute of Credit Management.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to credit operations
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Your new role
We are looking for a knowledgeable Home to school travel assistance lead (SEND) to join the SEND home to school travel assistance team. This role is offered on a fulltime and temporary basis (6 months).
As transport entitlement officer, you will lead on the review of home to school transport services, systems and processes which relate to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Ensuring the most efficient use of public resources and minimise the carbon impact of transport arrangements.
Listed below are the duties for which this role will be primarily responsible:

• To lead engagement with Council staff, parents and schools in relation to the provision of home to school transport services for children and young people with special educational needs

• To lead the review and update existing entitlement criteria and processes to ensure the Council is providing a statutorily compliant service in an efficient and effective way.

• To lead the review of existing home to school transport provision to Children and Young People with SEND to ensure services are being assessed and delivered equitably, efficiently and in a way which meets identified needs and risks.

• To lead, in conjunction with transport staff, the development of proposals for alternative transport options which deliver greater value for money and are based on robust risk assessment and plans.

• To support work on the development of Personal Budgets and Independent Travel Training schemes to establish the feasibility of implementation within the programme.

• To ensure staff in operational services are fully aware of and trained in the application of new policies and entitlement criteria for new transport requests.to ensure fair and just application.

• To support the development of the overall change management strategy for the Council to transform the Home to School Transport Service.

• To support the ongoing review and updating of the Home to School Transport Policy in conjunctions with the Head of Service.

• To contribute to the development of systems which track and evaluate the impact of changes to entitlement, criteria and service provision.

• To ensure recording systems for decision making in respect of Home to School Transport decisions on new applications are effective and robust.

• To support consultative work with a broad range of stakeholders, including parents, schools and transport providers to ensure that the transformation programme is taken forward in a legal, timely and robust manner.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have working knowledge of relevant legislation, processes, procedures and issues relating to the service user group. It is essential that you have solid understanding of the statutory requirements of a council to provide home to school transport and principles of sustainable travel. You have to be able to plan, manage and prioritise a caseload and seek guidance where necessary.
It is vital that you can show an understanding of the circumstances of people with more complex social care needs, to gather detailed and appropriate information and to reach a view about the likely source of assistance. Excellent numeracy skill and ability to make recommendations for the provision of services in line with the budget determined and according to assessment of needs is highly essential for this role. You need to be competent in a range of IT tools including MS Office and database management systems. Your new role
Southend Council are looking to appoint a full-time, experienced Commissioning & Research Officer within a 12-month fixed term capacity, to help transform and modernise care and support in Southend.You will co-produce change with people who need support along with their friends, families, and the residents of Southend. You will be accountable for the delivery of outcomes by developing a deep understanding of population needs and service outcomes as well as creating strategies to meet them.
This means:

• Putting local people at the heart of all we do.
• Being clear what impact our actions have, and on whom.
• Effective targeting of services to those in most need.
• Ensuring commissioned services are inclusive, accessible and responsive.
• Involving local people in identifying issues and co-producing effective responses.

Under the direction of the Head of Service, you will lead on the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based commissioning programmes. There will also be a need to collaborate with colleagues from across the council, partners and commissioned organisations in order to deliver agreed outcomes.

Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available. However, you are required to be on-site a minimum of 2 days a week.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you must be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience as well as knowledge of current national social care policy and have an understanding of current NHS national, regional, and local priorities.You must have knowledge of the local health and social care system across Southend, along with experience of quality improvement and policy review/writing.You must have excellent engagement, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Your new role
Southend City Council's Fostering Support Team are looking to appoint a full-time, permanent Fostering experienced Senior Practitioner within the Support Team.
Within this position, you will provide an efficient, cost-effective assessment intervention and therapeutic service to young people and their families. Ensuring that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are professionally assessed. Managing cases of high sensitivity or complexity and providing a focus of specialist advice and professional consultation, to gather, investigate, evaluate and analyse all necessary information on assigned cases. Demonstrating clarity of assessments, reliability of information, evidenced conclusions and realistic action plans.
You will need to develop a practice which takes a holistic view of the individual, locating them in both their immediate and extended social circles, and having a full regard to their education, social, recreational and health. Ensuring that all case management complies with the statutory requirements and the council's policies and procedures.

The position is hybrid working, and you will be expected to be on site a minimum of 1 day a week. There will be a team meeting every other week and duty is to be undertaken in the office, approx 3 days a month.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position you must be able to work in the UK, have a 3-year-post qualified recognised Social Work qualification, be registered with the Social Work England and have completed your ASYE.You must have knowledge or direct experience of fostering practice and National Minimum Standards, have knowledge of trauma informed practice in relation to fostering, along with supervisory experience and knowledge of safeguarding and managing/overseeing complex caseloads.
Additional knowledge must demonstrate: understanding the framework for the assessment of children in need and their families and knowledge of methods of social work intervention.
Previous experience of staff management, supervision or practice teaching along with extensive experience of applying assessment skills within a statutory social work setting is a must for this post.

Southend-on-Sea City Council are looking to appoint a permanent A&I experienced Senior Practitioner to help deliver Social Work services within the Assessment and Intervention Team.

Within this post, you will provide professional comprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people, some of which will be complex and sensitive cases which require the highest of professional standards, and in depth knowledge of relevant legislation regulations and practice methods, as well as providing an efficient and cost-effective service to children, young people and their families, ensuring that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are professionally assessed, this is to ensure that the welfare of children and young people are safeguarded and protected within the legal and statutory obligations of Southend City Council. You will be required to contribute to the overall performance of the team in order to meet service requirements, key performance targets and statutory requirements of social service legislation.Along with this, you will need to support and manage the duty system. This is required to manage the contacts and case direction for staff in their duty weeks.

You will take responsibility for some areas of work in the day to day running of the team, including supervision of identified team members and deputise for the Team Manager in all or some of their functions as required in their absence. Effectively manage and chair meetings to ensure effective outcomes for children and families, as well as deputising for the Team Manager as necessary and appropriate.
