Your new role
This Floating Support Worker will play a pivotal role in delivering assistance across multiple locations and services, providing crucial support where additional staff are needed. Your responsibilities may vary from working in Exeter Supported Housing project one week to participating in Outreach sessions in Weymouth the next. • Provide cover for services based in Exeter, Dorset and Somerset - including Outreach, Supported Housing, Criminal Justice, Domestic Violence and Substance Misuse
• Manage incidents and safeguarding, ensuring action is taken and followed up

• Keep all administrative tasks and records are kept up to date ensuring data is inputted accurately
• Any other duties within the scope of the post as directed by management

This role is critical in providing support to the companies diverse cohort of distance learning students. As part of the Professional Services team, the Student Experience Officer's primary function is to act as the first point of contact for all enquiries regarding general support, advice, and guidance during a students' studies. You will use your defect diagnosis skills to get under the skin of an issue, before creating a report to outline the required actions. As the specialist surveyor, you will take a lead in the project management of the repair phases of your projects, liaising with both external contractors and an in-house trade team to ensure repairs are completed to the required quality, in-line with the report and within budget.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this position, it would be highly beneficial to have worked as a trade historically (carpenter, plumber, electrician etc.), before progressing into supervisory and surveying positions, or becoming a building surveyor. This background will mean that you'll be able to accurately and confidently liaise with trade supervisors and create reports that mean repair issues are resolved to the highest of standards. You'll need to be able to back up your experience and credibility with some qualifications, which could include a HNC or HND in construction or a degree in Building Surveying.

As the specialist surveyor, you will take a lead in the project management of the repair phases of your projects, liaising with both external contractors and an in-house trade team to ensure repairs are completed to the required quality, in-line with the report and within budget.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this position, it would be highly beneficial to have worked as a trade historically (carpenter, plumber, electrician etc.), before progressing into supervisory and surveying positions, or becoming a building surveyor. This background will mean that you'll be able to accurately and confidently liaise with trade supervisors and create reports that mean repair issues are resolved to the highest of standards. You'll need to be able to back up your experience and credibility with some qualifications, which could include a HNC or HND in construction or a degree in Building Surveying.


What you'll get in return
In return, you will be offered a permanent employment contract with a salary of up to £39,000 per year. In addition to salary, you'll be able to take advantage of a 35 hour working week, 26 days annual leave + 8 days of bank holidays off each year, as well as pension, life assurance and other income protection schemes. The Telecoms Department supply telecom services to all NHS users, this provides telephony to over 4000 internal extensions via our existing telephone system.

In addition to maintaining these extensions the department manage over 600 mobile phones, 900 bleeps, 500 radio pagers and numerous telecom applications.The Switch Board is a key function of this department and on average handle 28,000 calls incoming and outgoing, every day of the year 24hours a day.

Your new role
Joining as a maintenance operations professional, you will lead a team consisting of over 21 operatives consisting of plumbers, electricians, carpenters and multi-trade operatives. You'll coordinate and lead this team to ensure that they are delivering an efficient and high-quality day-to-day maintenance service across the portfolio of various building types. You'll inspect more complex repair and defect issues before recommending a course of action, as well as helping to deliver planned maintenance programmes and ensure that property compliance and health & safety standards are continuously maintained.

In order to succeed in this position, you will need to be able to demonstrate an excellent operational management background within a direct labour environment. Experience working within a property maintenance setting, within a varied and diverse estate would be beneficial.

Due to an increase in demand for Support Workers in Children's Residential Settings, Hays are now looking for more Support Workers to join the team. With the industry growing and more settings opening, support workers are now required more than ever to provide care, companionship and guidance to children aged 5-17. The organisations that you would support with provide tailored, personal centred care to children with learning disabilities and autism or those who have been victim to sexual trauma.
