As Deputy Manager you will support the Registered Manager in all aspects of running the home.
If you are looking for the next move or currently deputising or team leading in a children's home or have experience working in a children's home, this role s perfect for you.

Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the home.
Ensure effective consultation with young people, staff and other stakeholders.
Support the development and maintenance of a safe and appropriate culture in the home.
Recruit, monitor, train and mentor staff and ensure they undertake required training.
Maintain up to date knowledge of the statutory and procedural framework for the home.
Ensure that the home is run safely to celebrate the diversity of cultures and beliefs within the local and wider community.
Develop and maintain good relationship and partnership with families, stakeholders, local authorities and external agencies.
To maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the home.
Ensure a homely, warm, welcoming, supportive safe environment
Effectively manage admissions and discharges
Ensure the home is adequately staffed at all timesand manage the rota appropriately t
Undertake effective supervision, appraisal, performance management and capability of staff in line with regulatory requirements and organisational policies and procedures.
Jointly manage budget, review expenditure to ensure it does not exceed the allocated budget.
To keep records and report all records addressing any shortfalls.

Requirements
Residential childcare experience (2+ years)
Hold Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
Child Protection experience
Leadership and staff supervision skills
Well-developed written and verbal communication
Management of budgets and staff rotas
Project management skills and have an enthusiastic disposition
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal development
Be proactive, solution focused and have an enthusiastic disposition
