Family Central, a service by Fei Yue Community Services, was officially appointed by the Council for Third Age (C3A) as programme organiser for the Intergenerational Learning Programme (ILP) with effect from June 2013.
The ILP aims to encourage intergenerational bonding by matching youths and seniors in a group learning environment. Through practical lessons such as Skype, Facebook, managing health and laughter yoga, seniors acquire new knowledge while youths share theirs and learn character building.
Family Central can provide a framework and methodology, capacity building through training, consultancy and sharing of best practices, and participating schools can count their ILPs as part of their service learning initiatives. These programmes will help forge intergenerational solidarity and promote social cohesion.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate with schools and external organizations to execute the Intergenerational Learning Programme (ILP) online/onsite workshops for seniors and youths.
- Design & create attractive publicity materials such as course pages and posters through the Training Management System (TMS) and related collaterals.
- Assist in recruiting, managing and coordinating with programme facilitators for online/onsite workshops for seniors.
- Oversee ILP workshops onsite or online when necessary.
- Manage administrative matters related to coordination role and provide administrative support.
- Handle senior enquiries through phone calls, text messages and emails
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Diploma Holder and above
- A team player
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Experience in coordination work
- Meticulous & organizational skills
- Possess creative-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Able to multi-task & work independently with minimum supervision
- Willing to travel to different schools and provide admin support
