Responsibilities:
- Senior Process Engineer II (NPI) scope of work includes setting up manufacturing processes, quality control measures, improvement exploration including design of jigs and looking into design for assembly.
- Will need to have a good understanding of existing manufacturing set-up and using techniques such as value stream mapping (VSM), will design the manufacturing concept to optimize available resources. After defining the manufacturing concept, will design the manufacturing processes and incorporating design for assembly (DFA) principles to simplify assembly processes by reducing components or assembly operations required. From these activities, with the objective of optimizing the overall product manufacturing cost.
- Setting up the manufacturing processes and quality control, will create work instructions, testing and/or checklists for inspection for critical to quality measurements. Will define test or measurement parameters and provide requirements to tester design team to develop the testers.
- To improve efficiency and manufacturing practices, the candidate will explore designing jigs for ease of assembly and critical alignments. Alternative tools exploration such as smart tools and fixtures which support better ergonomics will also be considered.
- During the projects before M300, the candidate will be involved in prototype build and support activities of pre-series build. The candidate is a stakeholder in PAG will provide timely feedback via TFS tickets and bringing the discussion to PAG meeting for improvement and resolution. The candidate works closely with stakeholders such as Project manager, Supplier Quality, Quality management, Production and Service. The candidate is also required to review and approve all initiated ECR, and improvement recommendations if necessary. The candidate is required to ensure the successful implementation of ECRs. The candidate supports the project and prepares at critical milestones for readiness check, Q-checks, and evaluation of product/safety risk assessment ensuring on time release of products to market. The candidate will be responsible to set-up the SCM acceptance and delivery criteria ensuring product test and assembly is meeting required specifications.
- Upon M300, the candidate will be the project lead for knowledge transfer between sites. The candidate is responsible to ensure the successful set-up of manufacturing site with scope of tester readiness, technical knowledge, production layout set-up and build capability.
- For the manufacturing engineering team, NPI Process Engineering will be the internal auditor ISO45001 with responsibilities of preparing and representing the team in external audits for recertification
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree of Engineering (relevant field)
- Diploma with min 5-7 years working experience in Manufacturing or automation environment
- Bachelor Degree with 3-5 years working experience in Manufacturing or automation environment
- Ability to interface with the different department and stakeholders
