• Collaborating with USBP HQ and sector staff in the collection, formulation, and development of Border Patrol objectives including supporting hiring and recruitment strategy and goals
• Assisting with Border Patrol mission-specific projects that may include operations, data collection and reporting, administrative and logistical support, technological requirements, internal and external communications, and other program areas as required

• Directing assignments of subordinate Border Patrol Agents, specialized units, and station operations.
• Directing activities aimed at preventing the illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air.
• Seeking out and apprehending smugglers or aliens who are illegally in the United States.
• Enforcing the criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality laws.
• All normal functions involved in supervising personnel, including leave approval, resolving disciplinary problems, and preparing annual performance appraisals.

This position starts at a salary of $50,917.00 (GS-07, Step 1) to $80,965.00 (GS-09, Step 10) with promotion potential to $80,965.00 (GS-9 Step 10).

The Mission Support Specialist assists in providing direct advice and guidance to employees; developing and modified administrative program work methods, approaches, or procedures for delivering effective services. Duties and responsibilities include:

• Assisting in providing direct advice and guidance to USBP employees at headquarters and throughout the sector and independently coordinating the work of the assigned office for all administrative duties to include budget, inventory, property, fleet, workforce management, workers compensation, payroll, and travel.
• Serving as the assigned sector supplies specialist and facilitating tracking and support in maintaining vehicle board with current mileage, assigned agent, and next service due; arranging for delivery of tires, oil, and filters from the sector for local repairs and service; and arranging to shuttle vehicles to and from local garages for scheduled service in accordance with agency guidelines and supervisor guidance.
• Completing monthly purchase card statement reconciliation.
• Scheduling bulk fuel deliveries; receiving invoices in Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP); and arranging for payment on the bulk fuel purchase card.
