The post holder will be required to work within a multi-disciplinary age independent, MH inpatient service.

The post holder will ensure that all organisational systems and processes are adhered to. The post holder will manage and organise competing and conflicting priorities and manage change in complex situations. The post holder will be a resource of clinical knowledge and competence in the service area contributing to staff and service development. They support on audit, guidelines and quality improvement approaches to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality in their area. The post holder will be required to undertake trusted assessments, provide evidence-based clinical interventions and clinical leadership.

The post holder will be expected to gain skills in operational management responsibilities and in quality and safety improvement approaches as part of their Band 6 position within inpatient care.
• Work as an integrated member of the team, with all service users’ needs within the unit, and hold a designated named clinician case load
• Formulate and coordinating holistic assessment of mental and physical needs
• To be Nurse in Charge (NIC) and shift management
• To supervise and develop junior staff member, with responsibility for ensuring junior staff, students and trainees have specific role competency sign off
• Ensure there is a robust process for care plan formulation, review, evaluate treatment and safety plans and report back to multi-professional team
• Contribute to the maintenance and development of the social and physical therapeutic environment
• Lead of all areas of risk management within the ward ensuring risk, including patient risk, positive risk taking, and environmental risk assessment is embedded and that trust processes around risk are adhered to and recorded
• Responsible for leading high standards of clinical care and maintaining service delivery based on evidence, clinical and professional judgement.
• Responsible for identifying needs to facilitate safe discharge.

Integrated Sexual Health Services – Coventry, are seeking to appoint an autonomous Senior Nurse, with a passion for sexual health and HIV nursing to join our sexual heath team where you will provide strong and visible clinical leadership. You will be responsible for leading the ongoing development of clinical practice and high-quality standards of care and you will work closely with others to achieve this.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated nurse who has a full understanding of what it takes to clinically lead our sexual health nursing team. You will work in partnership with other Clinical Leads within the directorate and the Operational Leads to shape our clinical and professional practice aiming for the sustainability of proactive high standards of care for the Coventry and surrounding area population. You'll be recognised for your high level of clinical skills, wide range of experience, and will be a valued member of the clinical and leadership team.

You will have a visible presence within the clinical setting, involving patients and staff in the provision of a high-quality service. With the responsibility and accountability for implementing agreed clinical strategies to maintain excellent performance, with the support of the Team Leader, Head of Service and Medical Lead.

In conjunction with the Medical Lead, you will be responsible for the clinical leadership of Integrated Sexual Health Services (ISHS), demonstrating a supportive and flexible leadership approach and a proactive, responsible attitude to promote confidence in the team and the service.

To act as a clinical role model to ensure that the nursing team provide sexual health intervention and prevention care that is efficient, and patient focussed. To support the Head of Service and Medical Lead in exploring current practice, identifying areas for development, and planning the appropriate change using research and experience to evaluate the outcomes.

Develop and embed robust clinical procedures, competencies, and induction programmes. Ensure that there is a sustainable programme for staff to have Protected Learning Time, Clinical Supervision and Reflective Practice and Peer Supervision and support.

Support and coordinate the nursing team, Health Care Assistants (HCA) both pre[1]and post registration nursing students in educational activities and assessments of learning within the Department.

• FSRH Diploma or equivalent (CPD 326/327 Qualification)
