Integrated Sexual Health Services – Coventry, are seeking to appoint an autonomous Senior Nurse, with a passion for sexual health and HIV nursing to join our sexual heath team where you will provide strong and visible clinical leadership. You will be responsible for leading the ongoing development of clinical practice and high-quality standards of care and you will work closely with others to achieve this.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated nurse who has a full understanding of what it takes to clinically lead our sexual health nursing team. You will work in partnership with other Clinical Leads within the directorate and the Operational Leads to shape our clinical and professional practice aiming for the sustainability of proactive high standards of care for the Coventry and surrounding area population. You'll be recognised for your high level of clinical skills, wide range of experience, and will be a valued member of the clinical and leadership team.
You will have a visible presence within the clinical setting, involving patients and staff in the provision of a high-quality service. With the responsibility and accountability for implementing agreed clinical strategies to maintain excellent performance, with the support of the Team Leader, Head of Service and Medical Lead.
In conjunction with the Medical Lead, you will be responsible for the clinical leadership of Integrated Sexual Health Services (ISHS), demonstrating a supportive and flexible leadership approach and a proactive, responsible attitude to promote confidence in the team and the service.
To act as a clinical role model to ensure that the nursing team provide sexual health intervention and prevention care that is efficient, and patient focussed. To support the Head of Service and Medical Lead in exploring current practice, identifying areas for development, and planning the appropriate change using research and experience to evaluate the outcomes.
Develop and embed robust clinical procedures, competencies, and induction programmes. Ensure that there is a sustainable programme for staff to have Protected Learning Time, Clinical Supervision and Reflective Practice and Peer Supervision and support.
Support and coordinate the nursing team, Health Care Assistants (HCA) both pre[1]and post registration nursing students in educational activities and assessments of learning within the Department.

QUALFICATIONS
Essential
• Registered General Nurse
• FSRH Diploma or equivalent (CPD 326/327 Qualification)
• Completed BASHH “STIF Intermediate Competency” or willing to work towards
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Autonomous practitioner working independently and in conjunction with other health care professionals.
• Evidence of teaching/mentoring students / groups
• Evidence of continued professional development
• Experience of Clinical Governance and risk assessment
