This is a unique opportunity to join us as a Senior Practitioner in our multi agency Child Exploitation team, Horizon permanently. You will assume a crucial role in managing and delivering effective and efficient services for children, young people, and their families whereby there are exploitation concerns.

Your responsibilities include providing professional supervision, adhering to Social Work England's code of practice, and contributing to team development. Flexibility and commitment to working outside office hours are essential to meet the diverse needs of families.

As a Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

• Assessing and managing risk in complex and urgent situations.
• Providing professional advice and guidance to other agencies and professionals.
• Supervising and supporting other staff members in the team.
• Ensuring high standards of practice and record keeping.
• Contributing to the development and improvement of the service.

Team members engage young people and their families to defuse crisis within the home. They assess problems, develop measurable goals and help the whole family acquire the skills necessary to achieve them.

Cases will span a wide range of issues including family conflict, absence from home, sexual exploitation, educational issues, anti-social behaviour and substance abuse. Working closely with other agencies and local services, you will be on the front line of an approach that improves behaviours, relationships, confidence, aspiration, employability, living conditions, mental and physical health.

As an Adolescent Support Worker, you will take on a portfolio of cases, working directly with young people and families in their homes.

Providing a flexible crisis response service with safeguarding at its heart, you’ll complete an initial assessment and develop strong skills in delivering intensive interventions.

We are seeking two experienced Social Workers. One to join our specialist Child Exploitation team - the Horizon team on a full time permanent basis and one to join our Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team on a full time fixed term basis for 12 months.

Horizon is a multi-agency team which provides support to children and young people who are at risk of or experiencing exploitation. Social Workers within the team have a protected case load to ensure interventions are provided to young people to reduce risk and develop robust safety planning.

The Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) brings key professionals together to facilitate quality information sharing, analysis and decision-making, to safeguard vulnerable children, young people more effectively. Staff from across health, children’s services, police, and education are based in the MASH at any one time at its based in Broadgate House in the city centre.

Our MASH is the front door to statutory services, by applying consistent thresholds based on Right Help, Right Time.

The children and young people we work with come from a variety of backgrounds and in order to deliver the best possible care it is vital that we have a workforce that represents and understands their unique experiences and perspectives.

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our Children in Care team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting children and young people in care, ensuring they have the opportunity to achieve permanency and stability in their lives. This includes working closely with families, carers, and other professionals to develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of each child.

You will be required to have experience in progressing children through to permanency, including working on complex cases and making recommendations for various permanency options.

A thorough understanding of court processes and procedures is essential, as you will be expected to attend court hearings and provide high-quality reports. Your expertise in different types of permanency care planning, such as adoption, special guardianship, and long-term fostering, will be vital in achieving the best outcomes for the children we support.

The Youth Justice Service (YJS) is a fast-paced multi agency team consisting of staff from the Local Authority, Police, Probation, Health and Education. Coventry YJS has recently been judged as ‘Outstanding’ by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Probation (HMIP). We work with children and young people aged 10-18 who have offended, who are subject to court orders and out of court disposals or being diverted from the criminal justice system, their families and the victims of youth crime.

We are currently recruiting for a Youth Justice Services Officer.

As a Youth Justice Services Officer your role will be to reduce offending by working within national and local guidance and through undertaking a range of tasks within and on behalf of the Service.

The role will work with children, young people, their families, parents/carers and the victims of youth crime.

The role will include:

• Undertaking assessments and plan interventions with all children & young people, their parents and carers which take account of (a) risk to victim(s), the public and self; (b) of offending; (c) of individual development needs (personal/social, family, health, education/employment).
• Being familiar with relevant legislation and national and local policies relating to Youth Justice and to effective practice developments.
• Undertaking work in a range of settings including Courts, the police station, secure estate, educational establishments, children’s homes, family homes and Children’s Services settings.
• Working co-operatively with colleagues from own and other disciplines and in partnership arrangements.
• Meeting all requirements relating to the maintenance of formal records of assessments, work with children & young people and case management supervision.

We are looking for an individual who wants to make a positive difference and who has experience and skills/abilities that include:

• Confident and able to interact with service users and their families/carers.
• Self-led time management skills, and the ability to prioritise your workload and the demands of the service whilst dealing with conflicting demands and stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills; verbal, non-verbal and written.
• Casework responsibility, undertaking of complex assessments, and analysing risk.
• Devising and delivering programmes of intervention with young people and their families/carers.
• Working in 1:1 and group settings with young people & families, and other professionals.
• Writing reports to deadlines and at a standard suitable for scrutiny by Courts.

You will need to be educated to degree level and/or able to show relevant experience and ongoing development to a similar level.

You will be required to:

• Work flexibly to meet the needs of children/young people, families & victims; this will mean some evening working.
• Be on a rota undertaking approximately 9 Saturdays per year.
• Cover bank holidays (approximately two per year) in line with service requirements.

A new national programme has been launched which seeks to evidence what interventions can be successful to end rough sleeping and reduce homelessness in England. The Centre for Homelessness Impact (CHI) are administering the programme on behalf of the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG). The aim of the programme is to run a series of trials and rigorous evaluations that will test innovative ways to end rough sleeping and reduce homelessness.

As a local authority we are excited that we have been selected to be part of this amazing opportunity – we are therefore seeking dynamic individuals to help us deliver the project.

Working out of city centre locations this new team will work closely with partners, including Cyrenians, Central England Law Centre and the City Council Migration and Rough Sleeping Teams, providing time limited accommodation and support to non-UK Nationals who are rough sleeping.

The new team will be made up of:

One Senior Outreach Worker role (Grade 6)- who will be responsible for overseeing the Test and Learn Project and acting as the link point to identify and manage flow into and out of the project

The role is traditionally known as a Traffic Warden. It involves monitoring vehicles to ensure they are parked correctly and in compliance with parking restrictions (e.g. double yellow lines). Where it is necessary, you will use a mobile device to issue penalty notices (parking tickets) to vehicles that are parked incorrectly and in contravention of the restriction. You will also be responsible for carrying out parking patrols throughout Coventry and for ensuring parking equipment and machinery in car parks and on-street is operational.

Importantly, you must be physically fit and capable of working outside in all weathers and for walking up to 12 miles a day in uniform whilst carrying work equipment.

You will be a member of a large team of Civil Enforcement Officers and work a rotating shift pattern that covers 7 days a week, for which you will be paid an allowance in addition to your basic salary.

We have an exciting and great opportunity to recruit an Executive Support Officer to join our team, this role is a full time permanent position.

In this role you will be supporting the Political Leadership of the Council and other senior Councillors. You will need to be passionate about working in a support role with a ‘One Coventry’ approach in all that you do, building and maintaining positive and productive relationships both internally and externally.

The skills you will bring to the role will include:

• The ability to work flexibly as part of a busy team, working to strict deadlines and managing conflicting demands
• An awareness of a local authority’s management and political management structure and the role of Councillors
• Experience of dealing with confidential information.
• Experience of providing high level executive or PA support.
• Good IT skills with the ability to prepare presentations, reports and minutes.
• An ability to analyse and evaluate data.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• A ‘can do’ attitude.

We are seeking to recruit to a full time, permanent Project Support Officer to be based in our Education and SEND Service and reporting to the Education Capital Strategy Manager.

The successful candidate will provide project support to enable delivery of sufficient places for Coventry children and young people and management of the education capital programme.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

To be successful, you’ll need to have good project management skills, knowledge and experience, ideally for school projects and a good track record of delivery.

You’ll have strong abilities of analysing, understanding and interpreting complex technical, financial, procurement, contract management and legal issues. You’ll be adept at working with people at all levels including head teachers, elected members, professional advisors and members of the public and to have good influencing and negotiation skills.

We are excited to be recruiting to this new Reunification Children and Families Worker role within our Child in Care Service.

The post holder will be responsible for contributing to and working with parents where we are undertaking a reunification assessment or considering undertaking a reunification assessment. This will involve direct parenting work and assessment. This post will also include direct work with children, including wishes and feelings work and life story work.

This role will require the post holder to have conversations about parenting capacity, safety, their child’s needs and to discuss factors such as drug and alcohol use, experiences of domestic abuse and many other sensitive issues. The post holder will be required to present with compassion, empathy and understanding.

The role involves ensuring that care leavers are supported and achieve positive outcomes with a basis in a family-valued approach and relationship-based practice.

• Are able to build and maintain relationships with young people, being persistent with difficult to engage young people.
