Cotteswold Dairy’s Shropshire Depot - based in Shrewsbury - are seeking a committed individual to join the team as a loader & picker working across the yard & warehouse.

We support local farmers and communities by delivering the freshest, finest quality products and first class customer service.


The Loader & Picker Role

We are looking for efficient and reliable team members who can work accurately under pressure. This is a physical role, working both externally and in temperature controlled environments

Reporting to the Depot Manager, key duties include:


Accurately picking customer orders from our chilled warehouse, paying close attention to stock rotation
Loading lorries and vans in preparation for delivery, ensuring loads are suitably secured and following the company’s health and safety policies at all times
Replenishment of stock, using the inventory management systems while ensuring the chilled warehouse remains safe, clean and secure at all times


You will demonstrate a positive, flexible attitude to work along with excellent problem-solving skills. You will be a confident communicator, dedicated to conducting your work to the highest standards and have a willingness
to take on tasks in all weathers

IMPORTANT - This physically active role requires manual handling


Warehouse Operative Working Hours †

Full time, permanent, 45 hours per week over five days on a rota, Monday to Saturday. Where a Saturday is worked a day off in the week will be given.

1000 start until finish (start times can flex slightly)

Roundsperson

4 Nights per Week, £24,518 per annum; Earn up to £5,800 extra per year in commission

Cotteswold Dairy are looking for a motivated, reliable milk delivery roundsperson to join the team at our busy Shropshire Depot. The successful applicant will have a clean standard UK driving licence, with a passion to learn and develop; deliver milk to our residential customers and enjoy building solid customer relations

The Roundsperson Role

As a representative of Cotteswold Dairy, quality and customer service will be at the heart of this position. You must be reliable, confident, and able to communicate effectively while being a team player. You will deliver excellent customer service and be able to work flexibly. Shift start times are determined by the round finish time and may flex at short notice. Due to the external nature of this role, working days may vary during periods of inclement weather

Key duties of this role include:


The delivery of dairy and dairy related products to residential customers
The operation of electronic handheld units for ordering and invoicing
The loading and unloading of Company vehicles


Roundsperson Working Hours †

Full time, permanent, 40 hours per week, job & finish, over four nights. Night-time hours through to early morning as required. You will be required to work an additional day per week on up to 4 occasions per year

In order to comply with the Working Time Directive, this will be averaged out over a period of 26 weeks

Start times vary based on the finish time of individual rounds, however most rounds commence between 0000 and 0300

IMPORTANT - This physically active role involves working nights and early mornings, and requires manual handling

You will have a positive attitude, and have a keen eye for detail; be reliably able to commute to work at the shift times indicated, and be flexible to work the full shift pattern including Bank Holidays

Class 2 HGV Driver

Cotteswold Dairy are looking for a motivated and reliable driver to join the Haulage team at the Shropshire Depot. The successful applicant will have a clean UK driving licence Category C or above, with a passion to learn and develop; and experience of - or a willingness to work - night shifts, weekends and bank holidays

Class 2 HGV Driver: Training

Our dedicated Learning & Development co-ordinator supports our Trainee HGV programme, NVQ programmes and academic progression; our Internal Trainer runs frequent practical FLT and PPT courses throughout the year

The Class 2 HGV Driver Role

As a representative of Cotteswold Dairy, quality and customer service will be at the heart of this position. We would be pleased to consider applicants who are newly qualified, and the company offers progression opportunities for individuals who demonstrate reliability and competence within the Class 2 position

Key duties will include:


Safely driving an appropriate vehicle in line with your licence category, remaining courteous at all times while delivering excellent customer service and building good customer relationships
The punctual delivery of dairy and dairy related products to semi-retail customers on intensive multi-drop rounds, observing stock rotation and conducting your duties to the highest standards
Being a team player, prepared to cover holiday and sickness periods; along with the ability to work well alone, problem solving on the road


Working Hours †

Full time, 48 hours per week (rostered average). Night-time hours through to morning as required over seven days per week on a rota basis. In order to comply with the Working Time Directive, this will be averaged out over a period of 26 weeks

Start times vary based on the individual rounds, however most rounds commence between 1100 and 0200. As with most driving roles, this position is job + finish.
