Leads strategic planning for communications, drafts press releases and conducts other media outreach (e.g. letters to the editor and articles for publication).
Manages content on the Board's website.
Creates and manages content for the Board's accounts on multiple social media platforms.
Handles public and press inquiries and rapid response campaigns.
Drafts copy and works with relevant staff to finalize and distribute materials.
Interacts with the families of the victims of civil rights cold cases, sharing the work of the Board with them and receiving their feedback.
Monitors news coverage of the Board in broadcast, print, and online outlets.
Organizes and leads public meetings and other forums to interact with the public.
Uses knowledge of both traditional and digital communications and media to engage with diverse audiences to promote the mission and work of the Board.
