Role Responsibilities:

• Advise on any Continuous Improvement Plan opportunities for the contract.
• Works to be developed to meet all relevant British Standards and specific site rules and procedures.
• Support with H&S training delivered on site to ensure the needs of the learners are being met by quality and in date/relevant training modules.
• Conduct random Safety tours to ensure compliance.
• Be prepared to support permit issuers as required with any additional requirements required to meet statutory requirements on the contract.
• Be prepared to support at other contract sites as required by the New Works Manager.
• Take prompt action to correct any shortfalls which may be reported by either the client or from company quality audits.

The successful person:

• Knowledge of health and safety in a construction and facilities management environment
• NEBOSH Certificate required, working towards considered.
• Experience of working in a pharmaceutical environment an advantage
• Experience of permit to work systems.
• Experience in a client facing role and being able to manage and ensure compliance with client's processes and procedures

Role Responsibilities:

• Ensure availability of plant and equipment to drive efficiently and reliably operation at all times
• Provide technical support for projects and assist with commissioning and hand over works for plant and user equipment.
• Provide, and where required, implement solutions to design problems.
• Ensure asset information is accurate and up to date. To make recommendations for changes where required and fully engage in the LCAM process.
• Raising and issuing of Business Impact Assessments and Operational Occurrence Reports (OOR's)where situations that deviate from the expected and found during maintenance activities on equipment, systems, and utilities, which could affect product quality.
• To carry out engineering tasks related to planned and reactive work activities.
• Recognise spares requirements, order spares and update stock items, as necessary.
• Managing and monitoring subcontractors working under your direct control.

The Ideal candidate:

• Demonstrable evidence of relevant technical experience and must hold qualification(s) at a minimum of NVQ level 3 in a related engineering discipline.
• You will have Good IT skills including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• A good level of interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
• Strong organisation, prioritisation, and communication skills. Ability to work to time constraints and prioritise tasks according to the needs of the business.
• Good leadership, motivational and communication skills are required.

Carbon60 are looking to recruit an experienced H&S Advisor to join a worldwide Facilities Management company to oversea the health and safety at their main site in Stevenage and cover Cambridge and Harlow when needed.

• Location: Stevenage with support to other sites (Cambridge and Harlow)
• Salary: £45k - £52k
• Working hours: 0800-1700, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week

What you'll do:

• To advise, comply and review company's EHS policy and procedures, all legal requirements, and best practice and to assist the project team in ensuring that they are compliant with all EHS: statutory requirements, accredited processes and procedures, contract and Client specific requirements.
• To support in the review of Risk Assessments.
• To assist in reporting of all EHS accidents/incidents/near misses ensuring timely investigations are undertaken, ensuring comprehensive reports, corrective actions and updates as required within set timeframes.
• To assist in ensuring that your area of responsibility, is compliant with all EHS: statutory requirements, accredited processes and procedures, CDM, contract and client specific requirements.

Candidate Profile:

• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
• IEMA or similar in environmental awareness.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (member of IOSH).
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a health and safety related role.
• Previous experience of working in a regulated environment.
• Auditor trained or auditing experience.
• Experience of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 and 45003 standards
• An understanding of CDM2015 and BS 5975 Temporary Works Standard.
