Background of department/role
The post holder will act as Assistant to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education and Student Experience) and Executive Director of Academic & Student Services and Registrar. Much of the work is of an executive nature and can, at times, be sensitive and highly confidential, therefore, the postholder will be required to always exercise judgement and discretion. The postholder must be capable of working to exacting standards and tight time schedules. As the first point of contact for a wide variety of people of all levels visiting or telephoning the office, the post holder should have a confident manner, professional, organised, efficient and able to exercise tact and diplomacy. The post holder will also support the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education and Student Experience) and project team with coordination of project meetings.
You will be educated to A Level standard or equivalent with experience of providing support to senior members of staff. You will have well developed skills in Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook) and be able to demonstrate working in a busy office.
Experience of working in Higher Education or a large, diverse organisation would be desirable.
