We are looking to recruit a motivated individual to the position of Hospital Engineer within the Building, Engineering and Maintenance Department.

You will support the Senior Engineer, in close cooperation with other Senior Estates Engineering staff, with the responsibility for successful ongoing operation and maintenance of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust premises and assets with a special emphasis on liaising with the Trust Projects teams and ensuring statutory compliance and a suitable environment for patient care is available at all times.

Assist with the development of infrastructure strategies across the Trust such as standards, introduction and implementation of new systems / processes and other policies for engineering maintenance, working closely with the capital projects, minor works and backlog teams.

Responsible for ensuring the assets are maintained in accordance with statutory and mandatory requirements and shall work with the Maintenance Team and contractors at all premises operated and maintained by the Trust to provide a quality service that is responsive to service and clinical needs and provided efficiently and effectively to the highest possible standards. You will ensure that external Consultants and contractors working in conjunction with you are fully aware of the policies, procedures and standards of the Trust’s Estates and Facilities Department.

Provide detailed professional technical advice to staff and contractors on issues that are complex and non-routine relating to the infrastructure and associated plant and equipment.

Monitor the performance of plant and equipment against commissioning data and operations manuals to ensure that it operates in accordance with the HTM’s. This will include re-commissioning control panels in accordance with HTM’s and operations manuals as part of validation and verification checks to ensure compliance with HTM and relevant industry guidance.

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is currently offering an exciting opportunity.

We are seeking an experienced quailfied DXA Reporting Radiographer to aid in the advancement of the DXA Reporting Service and ensure that DXA scans are reported with the utmost excellence within the appropriate timeframe.

You will be responsible for guiding the broader team to ensure the dissemination of best practices. You should possess extensive experience in establishing governance and implementing best practices in accordance with professional standards.

The responsibilities of this role include dividing time between clinical work in DXA and X-ray (approximately 30%) and DXA Reporting (approximately 70%) or as required by the service. As part of this role, you will be expected to meet the four pillars of advanced practice, conduct diagnostic imaging and maintain relevant records, supervise junior Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, Apprentices and students, assist in teaching SpRs, participate in research and audit and contribute to the department's QSI accreditation.

You will possess a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, a proven track record of recent and relevant CPD participation and current HCPC Registration. Excellent communication skills and extensive experience in DXA Scanning and plain film Radiography are essential for this role, as is the ability to lead a team and work independently.

To assist the DXA Lead Radiographer in their responsibilities, which includes overseeing the daily operations of the clinical service, developing strategic service plans, conducting clinical audits and ensuring the proper maintenance of department governance documents within the DXA Department.

You will be responsible for independently generating reports on DXA scans from various referral sources, after a period of double reporting with the Radiologist to ensure consistency and governance purposes.

Maintain consistently high standards of general imaging and DXA scans, as well as patient care, by utilising expert knowledge, involving users and demonstrating a commitment to personal and professional development.

Collaborate effectively within our multi-disciplinary team.

This position will involve a flexible rotation through other Imaging departments as part of our future service development. However, the primary focus will be on the DXA Department.

To liaise with Ward Managers, Senior Clinical Nurse and the Discharge Planning Team to ensure that patients have a planned, safe, effective and timely discharge and that the patient’s pathway is effectively managed without any unnecessary delays.

It is expected that the Discharge Coordinator will work closely with the Clinicians and Nursing staff to ensure that patients are proactively managed through the system, ensuring key elements of the patient’s pathway such as investigations, medication and transport are being requested in a timely way.

We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals with great communication skills to join our team in Renal Medicine.

Ward C5 is a 23 bedded Nephrology Ward, specialising in acute Renal Medicine. The ward looks after both patients with chronic Kidney Disease on Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis and patients with acute Kidney injuries

The ward also serves as a regional centre for Vasculitis and other related autoimmune conditions. The ward functions alongside a 6 bedded acute Dialysis Unit, which serves all inpatients across the hospital requiring Haemodialysis

You will work with the Senior Sister to provide leadership and support to staff. Support will be provided to develop your knowledge and skills within renal medicine as well as additional Band 6 responsibilities. Prior experience isn’t necessary as support and training will be given and there will be the opportunity to develop dialysis skills.

This post involves a full range of shifts including nights and weekends and will require participation in the nurse bleep holder rota.

Applications are invited for a full-time (10 PA) Locum Consultant Paediatric Haematologist at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to commence as soon as possible for 12 months.

The successful applicant will join the established team of three Paediatric Haematologists and 5 Paediatric Oncologists, in providing a tertiary service to children in the East of England Region.

The post holder will have specific responsibilities for providing both clinical and laboratory support for the malignant and non-malignant Paediatric Haematology Service.

Applicants should ideally have general paediatric experience together with specific Paediatric Haematology training.

The Cambridge Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Centre is one of the larger Principal Treatment Centres (PTC) in the UK, which currently attracts over 120 new referrals of childhood malignancies and over 200 new non-malignant haematology cases per year.

The CUH Paediatric Haematology team are a regional tertiary referral centre for children with both malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions and have responsibilities as a PTC, Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre, Specialist Haemoglobinopathy Team, and ITP centre.

We have recently launched a Paediatric Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplant Service. Related specialties are all on the same site, including the Paediatric Emergency Department, Acute Paediatrics, tertiary sub-specialty Paediatrics, Paediatric Intensive Care, a large Neonatal Unit, Radiotherapy, Apheresis and the full range of laboratory services, including a specialist Haemostasis laboratory and an Integrated Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service. Our ward and day case unit are currently co-located within Addenbrooke’s Hospital, with plans to move into the new Cambridge Children’s hospital within the next few years.

There are strong academic links available for cancer research in Cambridge, through the Biomedical Research Centre, MRC and CRUK, as well as through academic departments within the university.
