We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Research Fellow who will be embedded in a multi-disciplinary clinical research unit with strong links with the University of Cambridge, working in clinical trials, primarily in Respiratory Medicine.

The Clinical Research Fellow will be supervised by Dr Marie Fisk, COPD Researcher and Professor Ian Wilkinson, Head of the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a full-time post is available from July/August 2024 for up to three years and will involve working within the departments of Clinical Pharmacology and Respiratory Medicine, but a minimum term of 12 months may be considered by arrangement.

The Cambridge Breast Unit provides multidisciplinary and comprehensive care in the management of a full range of benign and malignant breast disease and is a tertiary referral centre for flap-based reconstructive procedures.

We have an exciting opportunity for two Network Engineers to join the Infrastructure team within Unified Communications department at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Infrastructure team has a broad role in enabling communication across the hospitals. This includes telephony, mobile and unified communications services as well as infrastructure supporting IT services for these highly regarded hospitals.

The Network Engineer role is responsible for the day-to-day technical support and service delivery of all products and services supported by Unified Communications, including 10,000+ voice extensions, 100 cab rooms, a 1st/2nd line service desk capability, as well as the voice network upgrade and transition of core telephony platforms.

The role is based on site full time within Unified Communications and reports to the Service Desk Manager.

· To be responsible for day-to-day technical support of all products and services provided by Unified Communications

· To support the Service Desk Manager, in close cooperation with other colleagues, with the responsibility for successful implementation and ongoing management of Unified Communications applications and systems, as well as implementation of strategy and programmes of work.

· To take part in the duty engineer arrangements for the team, and to support the duty engineer and Service Desk Manager when required to do so, so that a consistent level of technical support is provided to the organisation.

· To be part of an out-of-hours on call rota, attending site to resolve faults and issues where required.

Applications are invited for the role of Clinical Fellow (ST3-5/ST6+)in Haematology (Myeloma) at Addenbrooke’s Hospital to commence as soon as possible until at least February 2025 with the possibility of extension after this to a full year post.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our established clinical team and participate in the development of our Haemato-Oncology Services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our myeloma and autologous transplant team.

This would be an ideal post for a post-CCT Haematologist or a Haematology specialty Trainee wishing to develop a specialist interest in all aspects of myeloma including autologous stem cell transplantation.

Experience will be available in several aspects including:
• participation at regional myeloma MDTs,
• outpatient myeloma clinics and chemotherapy prescribing,
• clinical trial enrolment and monitoring, and
• autologous bone marrow transplantation including inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory care settings

With the potential commissioning of CAR-T therapy for myeloma patients by the NHS in 2024-5, the individual would also be involved in the service development and clinical delivery of CAR-T therapy specifically for these patients.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the management of patients with myeloma and other paraprotein-related disorders. They will also be responsible for the whole pathway from referral to recovery for transplant-eligible myeloma patients.

There will be opportunities to undertake audit and analysis of outcomes and other data for publication.

In order to be considered, it is desirable to have MRCP or equivalent qualification (FRCPath is also desirable).

Independently manage a caseload of complex, sensitive complaints and concerns under minimal direction of senior complaints staff.

To be accountable for own actions, using own initiative to manage and coordinate day to day caseload, re-prioritising as necessary.

After initial triage by senior complaints staff, identify the appropriate staff to respond to the issues raised in the complaint.

Liaise with senior Trust staff (including Consultant medical staff, heads of department and Senior Clinical Nurses), and the complainant if required, in order to obtain appropriate and comprehensive investigation reports in a timely manner.

Review complaint files and assess if the information provided addresses all issues raised in the complaint; identify missing information and/or discrepancies and escalate issues of concern to senior complaints staff for consideration of further action, and pursue issues with appropriate staff.

Challenge colleagues at all levels of seniority when necessary.

The Neurosurgical Oncology Service at Addenbrooke’s provides a service for the entire adult and paediatric population of Cambridge and East Anglia region and beyond; all in all covering a population of approximately 2.5 million.

The post is suitable for a post-CCT trainee in Neurosurgery or equivalent, who wants to specialise in neurosurgical oncology. The successful candidate will work with the 4 neuro-oncology surgeons at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Experience will be gained in all neurosurgical oncology conditions, including awake craniotomy, fluorescence-guided surgery and brain mapping, determined by the clinical workload. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake research projects during the clinical fellowship period.
