This post provides an exciting opportunity for senior doctors to work in a 50:50 split role with PaNDR (Paediatric and Neonatal Decision Support and Retrieval Service) and with a Helicopter Emergency Medicine Service, Magpas Air Ambulance.

The post incorporates induction, training and Consultant supervision necessary to undertake both roles. Successful candidate will be rotating between the posts in three-week cycles.

Candidates may apply as a stand-alone post, a post CCT fellowship, or as an OOPE, from an accredited HST training program.

Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Anaesthetist with interest in Transplant Anaesthesia at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Addenbrooke’s is the teaching hospital for the University of Cambridge and is a flagship NHS hospital having achieved NHS Foundation Trust status in July 2004. It has strong international links particularly through the University and it is a world-class centre for medical research.

The successful candidate will join a team of 12 Transplant Anaesthetists covering a dedicated 24/7 transplant on call rota. Our transplant numbers have a seen a year-on-year increase for the last five years (peak pandemic periods notwithstanding). At present, we perform 100-120 liver, 10-15 multivisceral, 10-15 pancreas and 150 kidney transplants per year. Our 1 year and 5 year risk adjusted survival rates for adult elective deceased donor first liver transplants are 96.0% and 87.5% respectively (2021 data). We are actively involved in the research program into organ optimisation using normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) and normothermic regional perfusion (NRP). This post will include sessions in other surgical subspecialties according to mutually agreed job planning. The on call commitment will be for transplant and Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU) rota.

Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) offers a regional service for the diagnosis and on-going management of Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions. The Regional Genetics Service is based on site and the Cardiology Department works closely with it to provide a multi-disciplinary approach. The patient population covers the entire spectrum of inherited cardiovascular conditions including aortopathies, cardiomyopathy, inherited arrhythmias, neuromuscular disorders with cardiac involvement and multi-system disorders. CUH is also one of the six designated adult centres for Fabry’s disease and the regional centre for vasculitis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take part in the cardiac management of these patients. The role has a strong clinical focus, but with also opportunity for research involvement if desired.

The CUH ICC Service also has strong links with Royal Papworth Hospital, which is relocated to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus beside CUH. A fully integrated ICC Service runs between the two sites. The ICC Fellow will be expected to participate in the cardiology SpR out-of-hours on-call rota (1 in 10-12, non-resident) but not in the delivery of the day-time in-patient service. There is no General Medicine commitment.

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Nursing team here at Cambridge University Hospital (CUH) as a Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).

You will be part of an established CNS team who provide specialist support, education, teaching and advice to patients, families and staff, both within the Primary Treatment Centre (PTC) here at CUH and throughout the East of England, including shared care hospitals. This role will also be part of a service that has recently expanded in the delivery of a Bone Marrow Transplantation Service for Paediatrics.

Your role will act as a key worker, ensuring smooth co-ordination of the child’s cancer journey throughout the whole treatment trajectory and beyond. Your involvement with the child and all members of the team involved in the care pathway, will start at diagnosis and continue throughout the treatment period into follow up or transfer to other professional care teams if required.

CUH is the PTC for children and young people with a diagnosis of cancer, and is supported by dedicated Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units as well as a critical care transport team. This role will support Children’s Services as we move into the future here at CUH with the development of Cambridge Children’s Hospital.

Are you a QIS Neonatal Nurse? We are looking for experienced, dedicated Neonatal Nurses to join our Team of bank nurses. NICU is a busy Tertiary, Surgical Neonatal unit caring for sick and premature babies from across East of England.

We are seeking passionate Band 6s qualified in specialty neonatal nurses to join our NICU team at CUH to deliver excellence in neonatal care. You will develop and maintain clinical, leadership and management skills in a highly supportive senior team structure working across the ITU, HDU and SCBU clinical areas.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is one of three tertiary centres for the Eastern Neonatal Network and part of the East of England Neonatal ODN. The unit admits babies requiring tertiary care including surgery and neurosurgery. This modern unit is part of the Perinatal Centre in The Rosie Hospital.

You will be responsible for providing safe and effective care to intensive care, high dependency and special care neonates without direct supervision in any situation. Assess care needs, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care. Participate in the supervision, mentorship and appraisal of pre and post registration staff. Regularly co-ordinate the management of the unit. Coordinate the management of special care, high dependency or intensive care room. Demonstrate leadership ability.

The aim of this post is to develop a specialist interest and complete ATSMs in the various specialities within the department such as Obstetrics and Maternal Medicine, Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Medicine, Benign Gynaecology, Urogynaecology, Early Pregnancy Unit, and Gynaecological Oncology.

The post has been made possible in order to complete the compliment of Senior Registrars required to cover all essential duties within the department and with this there is a requirement to cover the on-call rota at a tier 3 level.

The successful candidate will be expected to utilise the experience provided to contribute to service improvement projects and audits within the department.

The post has an on-call commitment on the senior rota. This is a four tier on-call rota with Senior House Officer and Registrar (ST3-5 or equivalent) support, an on-site resident Senior Registrar as well as separate on-call Consultants in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Other clinical commitments will be negotiable to suit the applicants and the department. It is expected that the applicants will participate in Medical Student teaching.
