Working in a busy and challenging environment, you will provide expert HR advice and work closely with managers and senior stakeholders on a wide range of employee relations issues. Supported by an ER Advisor, you will be responsible for a large, complex portfolio of ER casework, providing a high quality service whilst embedding best practice HR solutions across the Trust to line managers to provide safe and consistent advice and process. You will ideally be CIPD qualified, have significant experience of managing complex and sensitive employee relations cases, have a sound knowledge of employment law and demonstrate the ability to work with trade unions in a partnership role.

With strong people management skills, you will be driven by high standards, be resilient, confident, approachable, and professional with strong and visible leadership and a flexible approach to working. Experience of working within a unionised environment will be an advantage.

You will work in partnership with senior managers to provide specialist, comprehensive, high quality advice and guidance on operational HR issues in line with the latest employment law, Trust policy and good practice.


You will undertake project work and deliver bespoke and corporate training programmes.

CUH is looking for reliable and hardworking individuals to join the Procurement Team to support as Distribution Assistants.

The Distribution Team are responsible for the correct and accurate delivery of orders to the corresponding location point. You will assist the distribution Team Leader and Procurement Goods-In Supervisor in providing an efficient delivery/collection service to all Clinical and Administrative areas of the hospital.

We are particularly interested in those candidates that have a B1 option on the driving licence as the role will involve some use of Luton vans and the use of electric motorised tugs, other powered and non-powered moving equipment. You will be required to take part in duties that require moderate to heavy manual handling activities that will include the pushing and pulling of heavy trolleys and cages throughout the working day.

This role is generally Monday - Friday, covering an 8:00 - 18:00 service however, we run a 24/7 service and you may be required to change times to suit the service needs and demands. You will be required to work around a Rota covering a range of three shift patterns.

Those interested only interested in a Bank position will also be considered.

This is a very important role within the Trust and you will be providing a key service to the Trust, so that the rest of the staff can continue to provide the patient care.

• Correct and accurate delivery of orders to the corresponding location point.
• Keeping the zones and the PGI area cleared and organised is essential. Health and Safety is also essential and must be followed at all times.
• Learning to drive an Electric Vehicle called a tug, this is to enable the delivery of goods in cages and the linen for the Trust. Linen needs to be done every day first thing in the morning by all team members then on a rota system for the afternoons, weekends and all Bank Holidays.
• This is very much a manual handling post with the daily moving of cages and larger, heavy items onto a flatbed for delivery. This is a very important role within the Trust and you will be providing a key service to the Trust, so that the rest of the staff can continue to provide the patient care.

Shift Pattern falls into the following:

Pattern 1 – 07:00 to 15:00 – Sunday to Thursday
Pattern 2 – 07:00 to 15:00 – Tuesday to Saturday

If you prefer to work weekends as standard with 2 weekdays off (Monday / Tuesday off or Thursday / Friday), this is available.

Bank Holidays are classified as normal working days.

CUH is looking for well organised and committed individuals to join the Procurement Team to support as Material Handlers.

Materials Handler

You will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day activities and replenishment of stock across the Trust. Activities will include ordering, picking goods from the stores, receipting and putting away the stock in the different locations within the Trust. You must have good attention to detail for daily stock counts, good housekeeping and be able to work in a small team environment. You will need to log order details onto the trust system and also receipt deliveries that come into store. Some IT skills are essential, but training will be provided. An opportunity is available for a Band 7 Advanced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for a Fixed Term / Secondment. This role works predominantly within the Brainbow Team seeing children and young people up to the age of 16 within the Outpatient setting, however, line management, peer support and supervision is provided within the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Team. There is scope for you to assist with Inpatient assessment and intervention for Brainbow patients, depending on your interests, knowledge and skills.

The focus of assessment and intervention tends to be on speech, language and communication needs, however, there is also an element of behavioural feeding difficulties and dysphagia within the caseload. We welcome applications from SLTs from different clinical backgrounds, but with relevant experience and transferrable skills, as any training and development needs will be identified and a personal development plan agreed and supported.

The post also has responsibility of line management of a dedicated Speech and Language Therapy Assistant.

To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering neuro rehabilitation to babies and children who have an oncology related brain injury and who are under the care of the Addenbrooke’s Paediatric Oncology Service. This service is provided within both Inpatient and Outpatient settings. The post holder will also liaise closely with Community Speech and Language Therapy Services and offer occasional Outreach Services to children at home and/or in educational settings.

To liaise closely with Inpatient colleagues, lead on the development of SLT services within the area of specialism and to act as a resource for other Therapists in the area of expertise.

Brainbow was founded in 2013 as the first dedicated Neuro-Oncology Rehabilitation Service in the UK. The service was established by three local East of England charities, founded by the parents of children with brain tumours. Brainbow was launched with the aim ‘to ensure that all children with Brain Tumours reach their full potential’. Over the past 10 years the department has grown and adapted to best meet the needs of the children and family it serves and is now a fully funded NHS service. Brainbow is a Multidisciplinary Team made up of a Clinical Lead, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Education and Clinical Psychology. We are seeking a full time Medical Photographer to join our Media Studio’s photography and video team, producing high quality medical, ophthalmic and general photography for the Trust and its partner organisations on the Biomedical Campus.

You will be expected to work on site and also in clinics off site to help the expansion of our new Teledermatology service.

Media Studio is a modern department providing a comprehensive medical illustration service in a dynamic and expanding environment.

The clinical photography team photographs a large number of patients in our studios, and in wards and departments of the hospital, as well as public relations photography for the Trust and other organisations on and off the site. Media Studio also provides video production, graphic design and print services in a friendly, collaborative and productive environment.

Duties primarily are clinical and ophthalmic photography, but may also include general and PR photography, video production. You will ideally have a degree in clinical photography or equivalent qualification and/ or experience, be proficient in the use of current photographic equipment and image processing software, and be able to demonstrate good photographic skills and a high degree of attention to detail. You will be expected to work in offsite hubs covering Teledermatology photography as well as work as part of a team of photographers on the Addenbrooke’s site covering histopathology, clinical and ophthalmic photography.

Are you an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with a strong desire to work with adults with Head and Neck cancer or voice disorders in a friendly and welcoming team?

We need you to join our established team at Addenbrooke's Hospital to provide excellent, evidence-based services within the multidisciplinary ENT and Head and Neck teams alongside highly specialist SLT colleagues. This is a 1 year Fixed Term / Secondment post.

The role will be supported by a Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary ENT and Head and Neck teams and participate in joint Clinics. Therefore, you will need to have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.

We are looking for skilled Therapists who are able to manage complex swallowing and communication presentations, therefore experience of independent working with adult dysphagia is essential and voice and/or cancer experience is highly desirable. In addition, experience working in an acute hospital setting in areas such as surgical voice restoration, tracheostomy, oncology, and oro-facial surgery is highly desirable, as well as previous participation in FEES and VFS assessments.

Speech and Language Therapy Services at Addenbrooke’s are progressive and structured to afford excellent support and in-house training and development opportunities.

To contribute to the provision of specialist Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) within the SLT ENT / Head and Neck Oncology service with some sessions designated to ENT.

To provide specialist input to a defined caseload, prioritising needs and managing workload independently.

To be proactive in developing specialist services offered to patients referred.

To contribute to the multidisciplinary management of patients, taking a holistic approach to care.

To cover for colleagues and line manager as required in service coordination and representation to relevant forums, e.g. Ward rounds, Clinics and multidisciplinary team meetings.

The Imaging department at the world renowned Addenbrooke’s (Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) is recruiting.

We are looking for a motivated Radiographer who would like to further their career as a Band 6 Neuro Radiographer.

In the Neuro Interventional Radiology, Neuro Theatre and CT Scanning departments, you will be involved in highly specialised imaging techniques unique to CUH, and in some instances, the world. Due to our close links to the University and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, we offer the opportunity to work with the most up to date technology and imaging protocols and to be at the forefront of new research and development techniques.

CUH are in the process of developing a full regional 24/7 thrombectomy service. As part of this, a secondstate of the art bi-plane angio room within the Neuro IR department has been opened.

As a member of the Neuroradiographer team, you will be required to carry out a wide range of CT and Interventional procedures, working both independently and as part of our multi-disciplinary team as well as being required to participate in the out of hours service provision.

You will have DCR (R) or a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography and proven participation in CPD and you must have current HCPC Registration.

Experience in cross-sectional imaging and interventional radiography is desirable but not essential; full and comprehensive training will be provided.

To assist in the effective provision and maintenance of the Neuro Radiology Service, including CT Scanning, Neuro Interventional Radiology (IR) and Neuro Theatres.

Applications are invited for a full-time (10PA) Consultant in Medical Haematology at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The post holder will be placed within the laboratory and Medical Haematology Service.

The successful candidate will join an established team within the Medical Haematology Service, automated haematology laboratory, specialist haematosis laboratory and transfusion laboratory and which currently has 5 Consultant staff. The automated laboratory is UKAS ISO 15189:2012 accredited.

This is a replacement post in General Haematology with a special focus on Immune Haematology and Anaemia. The applicant would also be expected to take the lead in the Perioperative Anaemia Service and to be the Trust Lead in Immune Thrombocytopenia.

Applicants should have experience of laboratory Haematology as well as leadership, strong communication skills and desire to improve quality.

There is no requirement to work in Haemato-Oncology diagnostics in this post.

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Higher ST6+/Senior) in Hepatobiliary (HPB) Surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

There are two posts available:

Post 1: To commence from 20 August 2024 for 12 months
Post 2: To commence from 25 October 2024 for 12 months

The Cambridge HPB Surgical Unit is the centralised regional HPB referral centre for East Anglia covering a population of 2.5million. Our unit is one of the largest in the UK in terms of clinical volumes (8 Consultant HPB surgeons, >120 liver resections, >100 pancreatic resections annually), with excellent surgical outcomes. The post offers excellent sub-specialty training in HPB surgery.

Candidates will preferably have previous experience at Specialty Registrar level in General Surgery, experience in HPB Surgery is desirable although not essential.

The successful candidate will provide senior surgical cover for HPB patients including attending operating theatres, outpatient clinics, HPB MDT meetings, and covering the on-call rota for HPB surgery.

There will not be a commitment to General Surgery or Transplant Surgery on-calls. The successful candidate will join a team of SCFs and HPB Specialty Trainees. The appointee is expected to carry out a degree of clinical work independently.

We have an excellent track record of providing sub-specialty training in HPB surgery including complex HPB resectional surgery. There will be ample opportunities to be engaged in research projects leading to publications.

Perform duties in Radiopharmacy to aid the safe and efficient preparation of radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapies indication for patients across the region.
• Responsible for assisting the Radiopharmacy Production Manager, Quality System Manager and the Head of Radiopharmacy in the provision and development of Radiopharmacy Services within Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
• Performs and coordinates technical duties to ensure smooth running of the Radiopharmacy Unit ensuring supply of radiopharmaceuticals for patients at Cambridge University Hospitals and other hospitals requesting the service.
• Participates in the maintenance of the Radiopharmacy documentation system for the facility, equipment and environment.
• Undertakes training of students, trainees, and other junior staff including Assistant Technical Officer in the Radiopharmacy Unit.
• Undertakes the highly specialised quality control systems for the manufactured radiopharmaceuticals in close cooperation with the Radiopharmacy Production Manager.
