The duties of this post include– working in our multidisciplinary Breast Unit in both screening and symptomatic clinics. The role includes general radiology reporting and on call provision.

The successful applicant will join the established team of Paediatric Haematologists, Oncologist and Immunologist in developing the recently launched allogeneic bone marrow transplant service for children, building on the established Autograft Service, with joint JACIE accreditation with the adult/TYA Allogeneic BMT Unit.

The successful applicant will work alongside the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Consultants to support the tertiary care of paediatric haem/onc patients in the East of England region.

The post holder will join the existing Consultants in providing out of hours specialist paediatric BMT advice. There is a separate consultant on call rota for Paediatric Haem/Onc.

The Cambridge Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Centre is one of the larger Principal Treatment Centres (PTC) in the UK, which currently attracts over 120 new referrals of childhood malignancies and over 200 new non-malignant Haematology cases per year.

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recently launched a Paediatric Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplant Service. Related specialties are all on the same site, including the Paediatric Emergency Department, Acute Paediatrics, tertiary sub-specialty Paediatrics, Paediatric Intensive Care, a large Neonatal Unit, Radiotherapy, Apheresis and the full range of laboratory services. Our ward and day case unit are currently co-located within Addenbrooke’s Hospital, with plans to move into the new Cambridge Children’s hospital within the next few years, with purpose built BMT accommodation.

We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Specialist Craftsperson with a friendly and positive 'can do' attitude to join our team of Specialist Craftspersons within the the Estates department at Cambridge University Hospitals.

You will be responsible for calibration, fault finding and repair on
a wide range of engineering plant and equipment. Example (Heating systems, Ventilation systems (including theatre vent) and all other
associated hospital plant and equipment.

You will install, maintain, service and repair a full range of Estates Services equipment and provide technical advice to other Estates Maintenance staff and contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.

You will Undertake condition surveys, evaluate inspection reports andliaise with engineering managerial staff regarding plant or equipment failures and to request the supply of goods and/or services as necessary.

You will carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections and commissioning tests in accordance with Maintenance Manuals and Trust procedures. This includes the planning and organisation of complex activities such as shut downs and interruptions to power supplies or service. You should be able to physically carry out heavy repairs such as moving and handling heavy pumps, motors and equipment.

You will undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities at the request of the Hospital Engineer.

As well as their core specialist skill, a Mechanical Craftsperson will perform work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine.
• Installs, maintains, services and repairs full range of estates services equipment.
• Provides technical advice to other estates maintenance staff, contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
• Undertakes condition surveys, evaluates inspection reports.

The Paediatric Dietetic Team at Cambridge University NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Dietitian who is looking to develop their skills within the area of Ketogenics. Addenbrooke’s is the regional Ketogenic Centre, supporting children with complex epilepsy across the East of England. It is a highly specialist service, supported by an enthusiastic and friendly multidisciplinary team, including Consultants, Dietitians, Specialist Nurses and administrative staff.

The CUH Ketogenic Dietetic Team has a strong national and international presence, presenting at conferences and study days and contributing to research. They are a well-respected and integral part of the service comprising of three Dietitians and a Daisy Garland Dietetic Support Worker. There are wider opportunities within the role to be involved in audit, service development, teaching / education, regional Neurology projects and research.

Cambridge Genomics Laboratory at Addenbrooke’s Hospital is pleased to be recruiting Scientific Support Officers (SSO) to help our busy Rare Disease scientific team with the task of ensuring patient samples progress through the Laboratory efficiently and on the correct pathway. These pivotal roles provide comprehensive support to Duty Scientists, the send-away pathway, the prenatal service and the referrals to the whole genome sequencing service. The role will also include training new staff, quality and continuous process improvement in an ISO:15189-accredited medical laboratory environment. The SSO team works across the department, collaborating with scientific, administrative and specimen reception staff.

These new posts are being created to support the laboratory in delivering the National Genomic Test Directory. As the lead laboratory of the East Genomic Laboratory Hub, the Cambridge Laboratory has a critical role in the delivery of genomic services to a growing population of over 8 million people.
