This is a Supervisory role within the newly opened canteen at the Thamesmead Distribution site.
Reporting into the Operations Support Manager you will ensure that the day to day functions of the administration department are completed, in support of the operation.
Managing a team of catering assistants, you will provide a hot and cold food service to all colleagues and to ensure that the canteen area is clean and tidy at all times.
The working hours will be Sunday to Thursday 0600-1400.
Managing the canteen team ensuring food hygiene guidelines and processes are always maintained - HACCP/Allergen/COSHH etc
Delivering and managing HACCP best practice within the canteen and vending environment
Maintain due diligence on temperature controls and code dates
Ensure high standards of hygiene and housekeeping are maintained throughout the canteen, kitchen and vending facilities
Assist with any other duties within the catering operation to ensure it runs smoothly
Take responsibility for the catering P&L (profit and loss)
Ensure cashing up and banking are aligned to the cash handling procedure
Take ownership for the ordering of stock for food preparation and vending machines
Responsibility for Stock Management and Stock Control
Code checking and checking quality of stock
Create and deliver effective cleaning schedules
Vending machine replenishment and management i.e price changes, cleaning and cash collection
Assist in maintaining housekeeping in the canteen & kitchen facilities, dining area and Kitchen counters
The ideal candidate will have an excellent attitude towards customer service with a friendly outgoing personality and be used to working within a team environment. GCSE Maths and English-grade C or above.
PC Literate (particularly Excel)
Attention to detail
Ability to work on own initiative
Experience of working in a supervisory role
A high standard of presentation and the ability to work within a team
Good time management and communication skills.
