The Theatre case mix is challenging and specialties include: Upper and Lower GI, General Surgery, Urology, Maxillofacial, Head and Neck, ENT, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Elective and Trauma Orthopaedics, Emergency Theatres, Day Surgery and Paediatrics.
The Theatre teams are passionate about getting it right for patients and their families and to achieve this we are looking to appoint enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic individuals. Once appointed we will build upon your experience and support you in your new role.
Successful candidates will be supported by the friendly professional development team and team Band 7/ 6. You will also receive a supernumerary period. During your probation period, you will be allocated a senior mentor to guide you through your journey. There are also opportunities to attend the Perioperative theatre course to further enhance your training experience.

The post holder will be responsible for the effective and efficient operational supervision of the department, including a budgetary awareness, clinical governance, staff development and training. The post holder will be expected to provide professional leadership within the clinical area and provide direction and inspirational leadership to all members of the multi-disciplinary team within the area for which they are accountable for. The post holder will be involved in the development of protocols / guidelines and patient information.
