We are looking for a Band 6 paediatric nurse to work within our 7F Children’s wards at The Royal London Hospital.

7F specialise in Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, providing a continuation of care service for children following surgery and long term chronic illness. Additionally, we are lucky enough to be one of a few centres offering spinal surgery to our patients, with our dedicated spinal team. We also have an enhanced monitoring bay that is working towards High Dependency status. This area looks after the sickest patients in the children’s hospital, and acts as an intermediary between the wards and the Paediatric Critical Care Unit. Across 7F, emphasis is placed on multi-disciplinary working to ensure holistic care of the highest quality.

These areas are part of a versatile and dynamic service and the post holder will have excellent communication skills and be adaptable. They will be keen to learn and develop new skills and knowledge through the availability of a variety of training opportunities whilst facilitating the learning needs of others. We currently have access to a wide range of university modules including the HDU course, Evidence Based Orthopaedic Care as well as the paediatric in house trauma study days and APLS.

The post holder will be expected to take a role in supporting the ward manager to develop services, manage the day to day running of the ward and be involved in the management of a team of staff.

Barts Health has a busy and demanding children’s service requiring staff to be flexible in their working. The post holder will be required to work within a challenging clinical environment and undertake shift work which will include nights, weekends and bank holidays.

This an exciting and positive period for our cardiothoracic surgical pre-assessment service, we have recently introduced our ERACS pathway, Day of Surgery Admission and are piloting a prehabilitation programme for patients undergoing surgery. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated pharmacy technician to join the cardiac team at Barts Heart Centre.

You will have the opportunity to develop your medicines management skills, working closely with medical and nursing staff on a wide range of medicines management matters tooptimisemedicines use across the site.

With the implementation of ward based dispensaries for all wards and a pre-admission drug history service, you will assist the team in further developing the continued expansion of the service and implementing initiatives in line with the Carter review.

You will gain experience in counselling patients, conducting audits and ensuring optimal medicines management across the site.

This is a 6 month fixed term role based at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, working 37.5hours per week including 1 in 5 weekends.

There is a need for close coordination with the wider specialist MDT to pre plan medicines required for our patients at ward level through the implementation of an efficient medicines management system. This will include the assessment of patient’s own drugs, conducting medicines reconciliation, counselling patients about their medicines and coordinating the supply of discharge medication.

The role will also involve the training and supervision of junior team members and dispensary based responsibilities.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, flexible and forward thinking Clinical Endoscopist/trainee Clinical Endoscopists to join us at Barts Health depending on experience/qualification. This will cover Royal London and Mile End Hospital Endoscopy Units. Support for education and mentoring will be provided for the successful candidate to be able to achieve the band 8a (if as band 7).

The qualified Clinical Endoscopist will perform Diagnostic Upper GI endoscopy, and Lower GI endoscopy (or working towards) with JAG certification. The qualified Clinical Endoscopist, if not a qualified non-medical prescriber will be supported to qualify as a prescriber once JAG qualification has been obtained. The qualified Clinical Endoscopist will undertake procedures independently once deemed competent by the Clinical Lead, and act as a mentor to trainees and will be supported to complete train the trainer.

If interested in becoming a trainee, you will be required to complete a training programme of approximately 18-24 months for dual modality. This will include attendance at training courses, completion of practical assessments, JAG training and accreditation by JAG as an independent Endoscopist for upper GI & lower GI endoscopy procedures. You'll work with the MDT and contribute to development, management and delivery of a high quality general and specialist mixed GI endoscopy service. Endoscopy experience or equivalent knowledge would be required to be eligible for this post.

The Post holder will take an active role in ensuring Endoscopy delivers the highest standards of clinical care. This will include supporting the implementation of new nationally agreed directives, programmes, audit and seeking routes to improve/develop the service and role of Endoscopy Nurse or Allied health professional.

The Clinical Endoscopist will be accountable for the care of eligible patients referred for Endoscopy and perform Diagnostic procedure. Responsible for patient post procedure and ensure safe discharge from department.

The post holder will be allocated independent weekly lists across both Royal London Hospital and Mile End Hospital and admin sessions with an agreed job plan.

If the post holder is a trainee they will be allocated specific training lists to undertake supervised scopes as part of the training programme within the agreed time period, a proportion of which should be unassisted. Evidence will be required of the completion rate/outcomes of completed endoscopies, including patient vasovagal episodes, bleeding problems, unplanned admissions and the use of reversal agent. The key performance indicators should be verified and signed off by the Endoscopy Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Lead. The post holder should be observed by their mentor undertaking endoscopies and there is a requirement to submit formative assessments during the training period.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic dietitian with energy and drive, to join our team.

We are part of the largest NHS acute trust in England. We provide several tertiary paediatric services including Surgery, Cystic Fibrosis, Gastroenterology, Allergy, Neonatology, Neurology, Diabetes and PICU.We have a diverse cultural and ethnic population and cover some of the most affluent as well as socially deprived areas of the country.

The role will cover a general paediatric caseload at the Royal London Hospital. You will also be trained in CF and Respiratory conditions and work alongside the band 7 specialist Dietitians.You will work as an integral member of the regional Paediatric CF team (based at The Royal London Hospital) – One of the most dynamic services in the country.You will also be part of the Paediatric Dietetic team (33 Dietitians who work across 3 acute sites). The workload consists of both inpatient and outpatients, and you will also have the opportunity to build your experience within other paediatric specialities.

You will ideally have good clinical dietetic experience. Paediatric experience is desirable, but not essential. You must have excellent communication skills and enjoy working within a dynamic multidisciplinary environment.

We are looking for a locum consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest Pelvic and Acetabular Trauma, General Trauma and Lower Limb Arthroplasty. You will be predominantly based at The Royal London Hospital, but with regular clinical sessions at the Barts Health Orthopaedic Centre in Newham. You will be joining a department of 55 consultant orthopaedic surgeons.

You must hold full registration with the General Medical Council and preferably be on the Specialist Registrar or within 3 months of obtaining CCT.

1. Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care



2. Leadership, development and organisation on the services in his/her charge in line with the Trusts business plans. Liaison and communication with the lead clinician, General Manager, Service Manager, Clinical Leads and Directors for Orthopaedic Surgery across the Trust, and the Surgery Board Chair.



3. A major contribution to the department’s on-going efforts to improve efficiency in both the delivery and the management of patient care including the 18-week referral to treatment standard, reducing length of stay, meeting BOAST guidelines and managing the ratio of new to follow up outpatient attendances in line with commissioner expectations.



4. With the agreement of the Clinical Lead and Clinical Network Director, development of his/her own interests and specialisms within the speciality, including active participation in research programmes.



5. Corporate and individual responsibility for the professional management of doctors in training including the approval and monitoring of on calls and locum appointments.

In response to the all Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) report “No One’s Listening” Barts Health will pilot an urgent emergency care bypass model. We are seeking to appoint an experienced, proactive, dynamic, motivated Sickle Cell specialist nurse who has management experience and an interest in service development.

The successful applicant will be providing nursing leadership within a new service and will work alongside the emergency department and the haemoglinopathy service. The unit will provide triage, assessment, and care delivery to Sickle Cell patients who present to the Royal London Hospital Emergency Department. As such the role requires a high level of enthusiasm, drive, organisation and a willingness to learn.
