What You’ll Do

Project Leadership: Take charge of planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget constraints. As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the site development projects.

Cost Management: Responsible for controlling project budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in the project, creating strategies to mitigate them and maintain project timelines.

Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure that project deliverables meet the highest standards and client expectations.

Report Generation: Prepare detailed project reports and documentation for clients and internal teams, conveying project progress, milestones, and any deviations from the plan.

Business Development: Contribute to the growth of Design Group by fostering existing client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services, and participating in the preparation of proposals.

What You’ll Bring

• BS Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in site development and civil engineering within the manufacturing sector, with a strong focus on food, beverage, or consumer packaged goods facilities.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering site development projects from initiation to completion.
• Excellent understanding of regulatory compliance and permitting processes at local, state, and federal levels.
• Experience in performing field facility condition assessments and reviewing hydraulic calculations and analyses.
• Experience reviewing construction documents using software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and Hydro CAD.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.

Construction Quality Manager

What You’ll Do

You'll work individually and with teams to ensure compliance with established quality assurance procedures and take required action to ensure the quality of the construction deliverables. Provide quality control review, identify sources of error, and refine the construction management process. You will help our teams make critical changes to improve their performance and improve client satisfaction.

• Administer the Construction Quality Management System. Participate in construction project kickoffs, track checklist completion, audit projects, ensure the quality program is updated with lessons learned and facilitate monthly quality management reviews.

What You’ll Bring

• Food, beverage, and/or consumer products manufacturing industrial design project experience preferred.
• A working knowledge of a broad range of engineering disciplines including civil/site work, structural, architectural, mechanical systems (refrigeration, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, hot water, domestic water, compressed air, plumbing, HVAC), and electrical power distribution
• Plant engineering experience (nice to have)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for reporting costs, productivity, margins, and expenditures for the organization, utilizing hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices to perform complex accounting activities and financial analyses. This role works closely with the Finance Team and will help the team simplify and standardize processes and to drive operational efficiencies across the organization. What You’ll Bring

• A minimum of two years of experience leading BIM coordination for multi-discipline design projects
• Familiarity with the manufacturing and food and beverage, and Life Science market sectors
• A high level of proficiency with Autodesk BIM tools including Revit, Navisworks, ReCap, BIM Collaborate Pro, and Construction Cloud
• A strong background in working with point cloud data
• Familiarity with BIM tools such as CTC Tools, BIM Track, Revizto, Plant 3D, CADworx, PointFuse and Plant 3D (preferred)

You will join our Construction Practice and be responsible for the day-to-day execution of complex industrial construction projects for our Food, Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods, and Life Science sector manufacturing clients. You will work with Regional Safety Managers, Directors, Project Managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure our projects remain on schedule within the allocated budget.

What You’ll Do

Display the “Need to Lead” and act as our primary on-site Construction Superintendent for “Out of the Ground” Manufacturing and Production Facilities construction projects.

The Superintendent regularly supervises the work of subcontractors, inspects, and verifies work in progress, and strictly enforces compliance with 3rd party inspections/ Surveyors with quality and safety procedures.

Project Oversight:

• In complete and responsible charge of project construction ensuring safe, high quality, timely and cost-effective execution of project work with little guidance from senior level leadership; usually the sole Design Group superintendent on the jobsite
• Bring excellent knowledge of principals of construction, including forming and placing of concrete, process piping, crane operations and erection of structural steel, installation of cladding on buildings, completion of roofing, plumbing, electrical and HVAC, interior finishes, and installation of manufacturing equipment.

Pre-Construction Phase:

• Create site logistics plan identifying trailer location, material storage, access points, gates, safety requirements, signage, temporary utilities, etc. – as needed
• Provide technical expertise throughout the Pre-Construction process including reviewing the construction plans, specifications, schedules, as well as advising the project manager of issues and/or deficiencies

Construction Phase:

• Provide leadership by establishing and maintaining an effective and harmonious working relationship with the client and Design Group team members and subcontractors
• Manage day-to-day field activities to ensure that the safety, schedule, and quality requirements are met; Work alongside onsite/ offsite project stakeholders to make sure project is being completed on time and efficiently as possible
• Maintain daily paperwork such as Procore daily reports, schedule updates, and system correspondence; Identify conflicts in construction progress by submitting formal RFI’s and communicate them to the off-site PM for resolution

Post-Construction Phase:

• Complete the punch list and get customer sign-off
• Complete as-built drawings
• Photo document and update close out reports

Establish Clear Communication Channels:

• Display a professional demeanor; Responsible and accountable for fostering good local relations with community as well as building a good working relationship with client leadership, local plant personnel, project inspectors, city, and county officials, and sub-contractors; Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with Project Safety Manager, Project Manager, Quality Control, and Architecture & Engineering design team
• Motivate others, use professional negotiation skills, and conflict resolution skills to enforce contracts and drive successful outcomes; Conduct all business in an ethical manner to serve the Customer and increase the goodwill and success of Design Group

Scheduling:

• Review and adhere to construction schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met; identify slippage and make necessary adjustments; Build, update, and push a 4 week look ahead schedule, separate from the project schedules

Safety:

• Ensure compliance with Design Group’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines and procedures along with all local requirements (OSHA, etc.)

Travel: 

• Travel to construction sites in the region, which may include temporary lodging/living arrangements while supervising projects for extended period of time.

Construction Site Superintendent

When you join Design Group as a Construction Site Superintendent, you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world’s leading companies solve their most difficult problems.

You will join our Construction Practice and be responsible for the day-to-day execution of complex industrial construction projects for our Food, Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods, and Life Science sector manufacturing clients. You will work with Regional Safety Managers, Directors, Project Managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure our projects remain on schedule within the allocated budget.

What You’ll Do

Display the “Need to Lead” and act as our primary on-site Construction Superintendent for “Out of the Ground” Manufacturing and Production Facilities construction projects.

The Superintendent regularly supervises the work of subcontractors, inspects, and verifies work in progress, and strictly enforces compliance with 3rd party inspections/ Surveyors with quality and safety procedures.

Project Oversight:

• In complete and responsible charge of project construction ensuring safe, high quality, timely and cost-effective execution of project work with little guidance from senior level leadership; usually the sole Design Group superintendent on the jobsite
• Bring excellent knowledge of principals of construction, including forming and placing of concrete, process piping, crane operations and erection of structural steel, installation of cladding on buildings, completion of roofing, plumbing, electrical and HVAC, interior finishes, and installation of manufacturing equipment.

Pre-Construction Phase:

• Create site logistics plan identifying trailer location, material storage, access points, gates, safety requirements, signage, temporary utilities, etc. – as needed
• Provide technical expertise throughout the Pre-Construction process including reviewing the construction plans, specifications, schedules, as well as advising the project manager of issues and/or deficiencies

Construction Phase:

• Provide leadership by establishing and maintaining an effective and harmonious working relationship with the client and Design Group team members and subcontractors
• Manage day-to-day field activities to ensure that the safety, schedule, and quality requirements are met; Work alongside onsite/ offsite project stakeholders to make sure project is being completed on time and efficiently as possible
• Maintain daily paperwork such as Procore daily reports, schedule updates, and system correspondence; Identify conflicts in construction progress by submitting formal RFI’s and communicate them to the off-site PM for resolution

Post-Construction Phase:

• Complete the punch list and get customer sign-off
• Complete as-built drawings
• Photo document and update close out reports

Establish Clear Communication Channels:

• Display a professional demeanor; Responsible and accountable for fostering good local relations with community as well as building a good working relationship with client leadership, local plant personnel, project inspectors, city, and county officials, and sub-contractors; Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with Project Safety Manager, Project Manager, Quality Control, and Architecture & Engineering design team
• Motivate others, use professional negotiation skills, and conflict resolution skills to enforce contracts and drive successful outcomes; Conduct all business in an ethical manner to serve the Customer and increase the goodwill and success of Design Group

Scheduling:

• Review and adhere to construction schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met; identify slippage and make necessary adjustments; Build, update, and push a 4 week look ahead schedule, separate from the project schedules

Safety:

• Ensure compliance with Design Group’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines and procedures along with all local requirements (OSHA, etc.)

Travel: 

• Travel to construction sites in the region, which may include temporary lodging/living arrangements while supervising projects for extended period of time.

What You’ll Bring

• 10 years of experience as a construction site superintendent on industrial projects
• Recent construction site superintendent experience working on construction projects involving industrial facilities & structures (Cold Storage Distribution Centers, Food & Beverage Processing, Packaging, & Distributions Centers, Life Science and Advanced Technology Manufacturing Facilities, Industrial Tilt Wall Distribution Centers, ASRS Robotics Distribution Centers, Data Centers, Clean Room/Dry Room Construction, MEP Driven Projects)
• A record of successful completion of industrial projects with values ranging from $500K to $20M
• Proficiency in Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project), Procore, Bluebeam, CAD, etc.
• Experience working within active operating manufacturing facilities (preferred)
• OSHA 30 certified
• A willingness to travel for extended periods for construction project requirements including installation and start-up activities, client and company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, and conventions
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related technical field is preferred, but equivalent experience as a construction site superintendent for large industrial or manufacturing structures can be substituted for degree

The approximate pay range for this position is $110K-$150K. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.

What You’ll Do

You'll work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients. Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals.

• Senior Mechanical Engineer on multidiscipline project teams.
• Design facility mechanical systems including water, chilled water, wastewater, HVAC, cooling towers/condensers, boiler/steam or hot water systems, compressed air, and other plumbing systems for custom, industrial applications.
• Work with other licensed engineers and experienced designers to design mechanical systems including water, chilled water, HVAC, wastewater, cooling towers/condensers, boiler/steam or hot water systems, compressed air, and other plumbing systems for custom, industrial applications for manufacturing, distribution, and other industrial and commercial facilities.
• Work in our office and remotely with engineering teams of Architects and ME/EE-Engineers to design technical solutions to meet our client’s business needs.
• Develop performance specification of sprinkler systems.
• Knowledge/experience in refrigeration system design is a plus.
• Completion of engineering calculations and oversight of mechanical design using AutoCAD MEP. Revit experience or oversight is a plus.
• Interface with venders to accomplish equipment sizing, hydronic piping system design and selection of mechanical equipment.
• Develop specifications, interface with on-site project teams.
• Inspect installations.
• Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team

What You’ll Bring

• Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with our valued team members and clients.
• Excellent computer skills including AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. Revit experience is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of mechanical facilities design engineering experience demonstrating an ability to complete mechanical system analysis, sizing, design, and report writing.
• Able to perform as a Mechanical Engineer and execute mechanical design on multi-discipline projects
• Experience in the mechanical design elements of manufacturing and distribution facilities for food, beverage, dairy or consumer products industries is desired.
• Experience in the design of Life sciences, facility/building mechanical systems including HVAC (inclusive of air handling units, chemical and laminar fume hoods, unit heaters/coolers, etc.), water, chilled water/glycol, wastewater, cold/warm rooms, clean rooms, cooling towers/condensers, boiler/steam/condensate systems, hot water and hydronic systems, compressed gases (air, O2, N2, CO2, etc.), waste/drain and other plumbing systems.
• Experience designing Pharmaceuticals Facilities is required.
