The Role
As a Facilities Build Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for designing planning, Supervising the construction of secure facilities for processing and storing sensitive assets.
Day-to-day, you'll be providing a high level of professional security support to Complex and critical build projects within Mission Systems and will collaborate on wider security build projects across Babcock Group and the Contracting Authority. Specifically responsible for the effective Security Project Management expertise for all Secure Build Facilities.
Main responsibilities will be:
- Developing the site FSC management plans and supporting all Operational Requirements.
- Designing complex security build projects that meet all the requirements of the Contract and are built to the relevant build standards.
- Acting as the technical lead in managing the build standard and deadline activity.
- Working collaboratively with the project team to provide timely advice and accurate interpretations of security conditions associated with Contracting Authority security requirements. In addition, to support Commercial and Supply Chain activities ensuring such security conditions are properly flowed down and accurately implemented.
- Acting as a key point of contact to both internal and external stakeholders to enable an open and transparent working relationship focused on resolving issues as they arise.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel across a range of internal and customer sites on a monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Facilities Build Specialist
- Proven experience working in the defence or public sector.
- A working knowledge of the GOV S007, JSP 440 or awareness of other relevant and associated publications.
- A strong background delivering design advice for secure facilities that meet NPSA requirements.
- Experience of producing accurate security risk assessments and being able to recommend proportionate mitigations and solutions.
Qualifications of the Facilities Build Specialist:
- Ideally degree qualified but HND/HNC level qualification in a relevant discipline with extensive experience in the relevant field will be considered
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain (SC) security clearance for this role with the ability to gain Developed Vetting (DV) once in post if required.
