One of those decisions is: who do you decide to work for?
How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?
With biodiversity loss cited as one of the biggest dangers the world faces, the race to protect the natural world and its biodiversity has reached a critical milestone. Under the leadership of our new National Biodiversity and Nature Positive capability leader, you will play a pivotal role in helping our clients avoid, mitigate, and minimize their impacts. As a subject matter expert, supported by a larger national practice you will work with a broad range of clients across Queensland and be responsible for leading, developing & delivering fit for purpose biodiversity programs as well as advising on ecology legislation and policy.
You are at your best developing and mentoring teams and building positive and productive working relationships spanning key internal & external stakeholders, other technical specialists, government, and regulatory bodies as well as other service providers.
Key accountabilities:
- Formulating and delivering improvement plans for biodiversity, aimed at minimising our clients’ biodiversity impacts.
- Conducting and leading the delivery of ecology field surveys and impact assessments always with a focus on the future.
- Assisting our clients to establish and/or manage biodiversity offset portfolios including the identification, assessment, and quantification of new offsets projects.
- Provide expert technical advice on biodiversity and impact avoidance.
- Delivery of biodiversity reporting requirements for internal and external reporting.
We understand the importance of stretching & growing our leaders. We anticipate considerable change in the field of environmental assessment, which will create opportunities for us to collaborate with our clients and other environmental leaders who share our commitment, in areas such as:
- Developing and building nature positive frameworks and strategies, bringing together data, methods and ‘value chains’ necessary for the required transitions.
- Creating natural capital baselines (identification & condition of assets) ensuring the integrity of what is being measured.
- Implementing nature-based solutions working with our first national people and the broader community
