To manage and coordinate legal disrepair cases and arbitration processes, ensuring all disrepair claims are dealt with efficiently, with minimal legal and financial exposure for the Council. The role will ensure value for money is achieved in settling disrepair cases, coordinating with the repairs partnering and legal teams, as well as with residents.
The Litigation Coordinator will handle a portfolio of cases, working closely with contractors and legal teams to ensure that disrepair cases are resolved promptly, while maintaining a high standard of service for tenants and leaseholders, and accurate record of the repairs history for individual repairs cases.
The role will ensure accurate monitoring of repair cases, including repairs history, expenditure and financial forecasting on legal disrepair cases, and enable informed decision making to effectively manage the overall disrepair programme, including prioritization of disrepair cases.

We are recruiting a smart reliable Cook/ Chef for a client (Residential home for older people living with dementia). The candidate should have experience in cooking for older people including various specialist nutritional meals in a in a care home setting.

About the role

Nutrition is an important part of providing the perfect care to service users, and the Cook does just this! You will have all dietary requirements/ cultural requirements, and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of the service users, to serve up meals following the guidelines.

Responsibilities
- Preparing nutritious meals for service users in line with guidelines/ requirements.
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment.
- Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment and produce.
- Interaction with service users to reflect their food choices.

Key skills
- Food hygiene level 2 certification.
- Previous experience of food preparation in a commercial/ domestic/ hospital or care setting.
- Warm, approachable personality to engage with service users and vulnerable adults with ease
- Confident managing kitchen alone including cleanliness

NB: The candidate must have a clean enhanced DBS (ready to undergo apply for another if its not listed on the DBS update service) and other relevant trainings.

Responsibilities:

- To undertake assessments of individual and carers needs and risks to encourage independence, provide support and prevent harm. This includes promoting a multi-agency approach by developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- To undertake statutory intervention where service users are deemed to be at risk, including situations where people may be neglected or abused in accordance with the Inter-Agency Policy and Procedures for Safeguarding Adults.
- To work in partnership with service users and carers using a person-centred approach, with the aim of maximising independence, wellbeing and choice.
- To hold a caseload appropriate to the level of expertise and provide support and expert advice to social care assessors, students and partners.
- To provide advice, information and guidance to service users and carers ensuring that that support plans and other information regarding individual care packages is shared with the service user, carers and other agencies as required in accordance with the Council’s policies and procedures including those on data protection.
- To facilitate service user choice and empowerment through promoting independence and the personalisation agenda through all stages of assessment, support planning and review to enable service users to maintain independence for as long as possible.
- To monitor implementation of packages of care and support and adjust them as appropriate and to ensure that individual care packages, including funding arrangements for any services, are thoroughly reviewed in accordance with statutory requirements and Council policy to ensure highest quality of service and best value.
- To apply social work ethical principles and values to guide professional practice and respect diversity and apply critical reflection and analysis to inform professional decisions and use supervision to promote continuous professional development.

- To ensure that information is recorded consistently, accurately and meets statutory timescales. To ensure that service user confidentiality is maintained and that information is shared with the service user, care and other agencies in accordance with the Department’s data protection requirements.
