This role will report to the MPS Planning Team leader. Its primary responsibility is to assist with planning and prioritising operations, ensuring that goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations.
An excellent MPS Planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimise them. They are organised, results-driven, and have excellent problem-solving skills.
You will collaborate with the Senior MPS planner to provide regular updates concerning any foreseen order delays to our external TSS colleagues, assist in assessing capacity constraints posed by incoming demand, aid production in evaluating order patterns and highlighting possible areas of concern, help production in its efforts to remove bottlenecks, arrears and provide manufacturing documentation.
1. Tasks and Responsibilities
· Releasing rapid / expedited production orders manually and adjusting volumes outside the automated ERP process.
· Monitor production progress, highlighting and addressing delays, then adjusting priorities as needed.
· Planning and levelling capacity, prioritising operations for optimal performance.
· Working with production to determine manpower, equipment, and raw material needs.
· Continuously seek and implement opportunities for process improvements.
· Addressing issues promptly to minimise disruptions.
· Coordinating production workflows for one or multiple products.
· Entering sales orders into the ERP system.
· Running the ERP system to generate daily manufacturing orders.
Collating manufacturing orders, including assembling document packs for production cells (e.g., printing drawings, inspection plans, and data sheets).
· Handling administrative emails.
· Identifying issues in document packs before release.
· Sending order chases to advise of delays.
· Performing general data entry and administrative tasks.
· Collecting output information (e.g., finished product count, defect percentages).
· Prepare and submit status and performance reports.
· Organising paperwork.
· Collaborating with quality control and warehouse staff
2. Education and Experience
· Proven experience in planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
· Excellent knowledge of production planning
· Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis
· Working SAP knowledge and being able to interrogate SAP for crucial information and reporting.
· Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
· Ability to understand technical drawings.
