Do you want to drive the future of technology policy in California? Adobe is seeking an innovative, self-starter who understands the importance of public policy and government advocacy and the impact it has on business and technology. We are looking for an individual to lead government advocacy in California to drive key initiatives, leverage internal expertise and leadership to engage with public officials to provide valuable insight and expertise on policy issues that directly impact our company.
Collaborating with Adobe's business units and subject matter experts, you will strategize and deliver on initiatives to ensure that public sector decision-making complements private sector innovation to help enhance economic growth and improve citizens’ lives.
Develop strategy and achieve government relations advocacy objectives and public policy priorities for Adobe before state and local governments in California. This includes driving policy objectives around AI.
Facilitate high-level meetings between Adobe executives and key partners, including policymakers and executives, industry associations, and alliance partners to promote and advocate for the company’s public policy policies.
Work with industry associations and policy organizations on behalf of Adobe and ensure appropriate utilization of outside consultants.
Work collaboratively with the Adobe public sector team to ensure alignment between core business priorities, public policy goals and “go to market” strategies.
Identify and communicate potential public sector opportunities and threats, develop improvement or mitigation strategies and policy positions; handle and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs and key initiatives in concert with Adobe business objectives.
Think creatively to influence innovative approaches to advocacy and public policy development in California.
Bachelor’s degree is required preferably in a relevant subject area (Political Science, Public Policy, Business, etc.).
8 + years (or equivalent experience) with state lobbying through legislative or executive branch experience or representing a large company or association in California.
Understanding and experience in working with senior executives to achieve public policy strategies in California.
Experience in developing strategy and delivering on public policy initiatives.
Proven understanding of and background in advocacy and public policy development pertaining to technology issues and policies such as, AI, privacy, education, business regulation, procurement and government contracting.
Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interact at the highest corporate, and state and local government levels efficiently and comfortably.
Self-starter with consistent track record developing strategy, successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across an organization and cultures to implement and deliver on key objectives.
Capable of working both independently and as part of a broader team with internal and external partners as needed.
Ability to influence and persuade others is required. Must be flexible and demonstrate excellent judgment/decision-making skills, and political acuity.
Maintain the highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity, with the strongest professional reputation in the industry.
Proven ability to build and cultivate effective relationships and networks with others.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $101,600 -- $200,700 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
