Job Description

Responsible for supervising and managing civil engineering, structural engineering, and the architectural department within KBR’s Integrated Solutions business.  Conducts various aspects of performance management such as performance appraisal or counseling of employees with behavior or technical performance problems and assists in the interviewing, hiring, and assignment of new personnel in the discipline.

Functional Job Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Review and approval of nonstandard execution methods.
• Innovative ways to deliver to client’s needs and expectations.
• Develop and maintain an overall department budget.
• Provide guidance and technical oversight on projects while driving KBR’s quality initiatives and standards.
• Establish succession planning and mentorship throughout the group.
• Responsible for all personnel decisions across the civil/structural/architectural team.
• Aid in sales and proposal pursuits including development of work hour estimates required to properly execute a given scope of work.

Job Qualifications:

• Skills are typical acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of ten (10) years related experience, with an average experience of twenty (20) years.
• Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer (preferred) this level is often referred to as chief engineer.
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.
• Attention to detail and the ability to ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.
• An individual at this level may be an individual researcher or consultant who is recognized as a national and /or international authority and leader in an area of engineering or scientific interest and investigation.

Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 16 years related experience, with average experience of 16+ years. Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained professional. Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents. Also may be responsible for leadership of a functional area on a small project or a segment of a larger project. As the lead, plans, budgets, organizes, coordinates and controls the project and is responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower level professionals. This specific position is considered the Main Automation Contractor (MAC) Manager within the Coordinating Project Management Contractor (cPMC) Team for a Mega Scale International Program.  The MAC Manager will work under the Program Director to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard Instrumentation and Control Systems engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications within the overall MAC program. In-depth knowledge and experience with DCS/SIS/FGS for large scale projects is a must. Knowledge and experience with Traditional, Remote I/O, and Foundation Fieldbus signal is required.

Responsibilities:

·        Evaluation of MAC suppliers based on program guidelines.

·        Prepare accurate and complete evaluation reports and prepare professional presentations of the evaluations.

·        Meet directly with our International Client to present the MAC Evaluation Results.

·        Coordinate with other disciplines and assist engineers and/or designers to ensure effective quality product.

·        Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and IMS and standards.

·        Investigate and resolve unusual design and field engineering problems by devising new approaches.

·        Ensure that effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.

·        Resolve project issues and problems.

·        Provide technical guidance to the design team.

·        Collaborate with design team to maximize design value.

·        Provide employee performance feedback to discipline manager.

Qualification/ Certification:

·        BS degree in Control System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering with 16 plus years of hands-on engineering experience strongly preferred in petrochemical, midstream or other heavy industries.

Experienced Engineering Manager with demonstrated 3-5 years demonstrated experience. Candidate shall have 10-15 years' experience in Engineering Management.

Has responsibility for day-to-day contact and communication with all engineering disciplines, procurement, scheduling, construction/commissioning and the client and focuses on providing client satisfaction.

Possesses knowledge of the respective industry including Petrochemicals, Refining, Chemicals, LNG, Energy Transition etc. ranging in scope from pre-FEED, FEED to EPCM. Supervises personnel assigned to the project through subordinate leaders. May also serve as the proposal manager of medium-sized projects.

Job Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering degree preferred.

• A minimum of ten (10) years related experience, with average experience of 15-20 years.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to function within a project team.

• Willingness to travel to project sites, if necessary.
