• Manages fiscal and staffing resources. Formulates and executes budgets for training programs, including financial/budget reporting. Obligates funding within allocations and develops/delivers timely reports. Serves as course manager for Training Services Support Division courses. • Ensures complete and accurate input of CASTLE Labor Distribution Report Data and Time and Attendance for all employees by established deadline.
• Communicates and coordinates training requirements with FAA Academy senior management, Aeronautical Center organizations, FAA headquarters, regions, lines of business, other federal agencies, private industry, contract personnel, and international countries. Represents the Academy on national workgroups or committees to ensure the fiscal aspects of the training and evaluation programs are met and integrated into the agency's technical training program, affecting agency programs and projects at the regional, headquarters, and national levels.
• Manages accountable training property so that annual inventories documented property.
• Conducts instructor training courses for agency personnel, personnel of other government organizations, and international training personnel.
• Provides continuing direct staff guidance and leadership assistance to FAA Academy supervisors on establishing and using instructor performance standards, instructor appraisal techniques, counseling for instructor performance improvement, current state of the art educational technology and student performance evaluation measures.
• Chairs various development and project teams in efforts related to instructional and educational aspects of technical training such as instructor proficiency, monitoring, curricula evaluation, course modernization and revision.
• Manages internal and external marketing activities to promote course and service offerings within the agency and to other governmental agencies.

Serves as a Operations Manager (OM) in a Large TRACON, responsible for planning and directing operations. The incumbent may be requested to provide direct support to the Air Traffic Manager. In the terminal option, the OM provides first-line supervision to assigned Operation Supervisors (OS) and Traffic Management Coordinators (TMC), if applicable. The OM provides second-line supervision to Air Traffic Control Specialists (ATCS). The OM is responsible for operational services of the facility including traffic management initiatives. Provides training, coaching, and guidance to subordinates and facilitates team building throughout his/her area(s) of responsibility. Integrates support resources with operational needs to maintain effective ATC service, and may work other than administrative shifts to meet this requirement. Using measures of organizational performance, the OM continuously reviews work processes to assure that results meet the agency's mission and the customers' needs, adds value to facility services, and are efficiently achieved. Serves as a member of the management team and provides advice on ways to improve organizational performance and to meet strategic goals.

The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) performing such duties as removing, installing, adjusting, aligning, inspecting, troubleshooting, and performing final functional and operational tests on a variety of major aircraft systems, their assemblies, and components such as airframe, landing gear, power plant, gear boxes, pumps, and hydraulic, pressurization, utility, fuel, oil, pneumatic, and flight control systems and to provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

Duties:
1. Performs inspection and troubleshooting on a variety of aircraft systems, their assemblies, and components in accordance with applicable technical orders/commercial manuals (C40 only) and specifications.
2. Positions, maintains, disassembles, repairs, and reassembles aircraft systems, their assemblies, and components in accordance with applicable technical orders and specifications.
3. Accomplishes aircraft maintenance and equipment record keeping, both manual and automated, associated with aircraft maintenance and repair
4. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations, and maintains a safe and clean work area.
5. Verifies and certifies work processes and procedures and adequacy of work accomplished by certified co-workers and trainees

Works closely with medical officers to assure the following: (1) medical certifications are only issued to medically qualified airmen, (2) ATCS/ATVS applicant physical exams meet program requirements, (3) an appropriate number of qualified physicians are selected, designated and trained as AMEs to conduct FAA medical examinations of civil airmen, (4) AME site visits and quality assurance reviews are conducted and (5) All phases of the Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing program, including pre-employments/pre-appointment, random, follow-up, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident testing are coordinated. This position may require travel in support of these program areas.

Conducts analysis in the review and evaluation of program activities. These analyses are conducted to ensure proper program integration and conformance to policy, completeness, and adequacy of operation in meeting goals and objectives. Prepares recommendations based on such reviews and discusses recommended courses of action with program managers to resolve major program areas. The primary purpose of these positions is to perform Project Work related to historic and non-historic Park Trails and Structures repair, maintenance, renew, and restore. Performing these trails laboring duties will require moderately heavy physical effort requiring the use of common hand tools and power equipment and will involve any or all of the following duties:

• Operate vehicles (up to 10,000 pounds) to transport personnel, materials, or equipment.
• Operate heavy power equipment such as chainsaws, leaf blowers, brush cutters, brush chippers and all types of hand and light power tools.
• Perform trail work including maintenance/repair/rehab of bridges, tread surfaces, rock walls, drainage control, etc.
• Cut trees, performs heavy vegetation management and cleans erosion control structures on wilderness and non-wilderness trails using axe, chainsaws, crosscut saws, power weeders, loppers, brush cutters, picks, mcleods, etc.
• Hike 8-10 miles daily into the backcountry while carrying loaded packs and gear to perform trail maintenance and rehabilitation work.

The purpose of this position is to serve as a Small Shop Chief (SSC) with the responsibility for the overall shop. The position oversees and directs the work of one or more employees who perform work in the Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Repairer, WG-4818-10 occupation who are assigned to the shop. The incumbent performs the full range of non-supervisory journey level work of the shop.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the incumbent and lower graded worker(s).

Utilizes knowledge and skills of the journey level as well as those required to plan, accomplish, and maintain a functional shop maintenance program.

Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished. Estimates manpower, equipment, and material requirements.

Devises and maintains all program plans and records, performs surveillance and troubleshooting, and determines maintenance/repair procedures to be utilized.

Plans, organizes, and directs shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision.

Determines approaches, methods, and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner.

Provides recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, leave, etc.

Performs the full range of journey level work of the shop.

Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
