· Brokerage contract negotiation and preparation. Calculate voyage estimates and assist with budgeting and preparation of commercial tenders. Brokerage of newbuilding projects. Provide liaison between owners and charterers, ensuring all parties are fully informed of charter progress.
· Monitor market conditions, rates and trends for the industry through all appropriate means in addition to keeping Management apprised of upcoming major contracts and outcomes of tender awards. Work with Management to develop and execute continuous improvements within the Commercial / Business Development Department, develop specific initiatives and key performance indicators.
· Review and analyse processes and strategies within the Commercial / Business Development Department and advise management on suggested changes and improvements as appropriate.
· Carry out adequate risk analysis and / or feasibility studies prior to potential project/investment commencement and monitor a project's smooth running during the lifespan of the project until final payments are made.
· Plan, monitor, manage and organise resources for designated key projects to ensure that they are being effectively carried out and sufficiently resourced.
