Come and join the fun this summer at Camp Olathe! The Parks and Recreation Department at the City of Olathe is looking for individuals who possess a Class B CDL with passenger endorsement to work with school age kids at one of five outdoor summer camps at our beautiful Olathe parks.

You will deliver program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers' age and abilities. You will provide safe transportation to campers and staff on field trips and inclement weather sites. You will enforce rules, ensure safety, comply with KDHE regulations, and interact with the campers at all times.

The camp is a traditional outdoor day camp for school age children. Hours of operations are Monday-Friday between 7AM and 6PM.

The Director, Supply Chain Design and Execution – Medical Distribution will report to the VP, Supply Chain Flow and Strategy – Medical Distribution. This position leads the Supply Chain Design and Execution team; focused on ensuring our distribution network can support future growth while driving best-in-class service at an optimal cost across the U.S. Medical supply chain. With approximately $1 Billion in U.S. supply chain costs, this individual will partner with Operations and Commercial teams and use data-driven analysis, strategic thinking, initiative ideation & prioritization, and project management skills to identify current supply chain capacity and capability gaps and deploy solutions to improve end-to-end flow of product through the supply chain.  This individual must have experience driving end-to-end solutions and managing analytical teams in one or more critical supply chain functions (e.g., transportation, distribution, replenishment, network design, Capital planning, deployment, etc.).  Ideal candidate will also have experience across different industries, allowing him/her to draw upon and implement best practices. Must be a detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to lead multiple strategic projects as well as a team of highly talented Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and Project Managers.

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of proven supply chain experience across multiple industries and functions preferred
• 5-7 years of experience leading both analytical and operations teams preferred
• Experience leading development of large scale, 3-5 year strategy – communicating across key stakeholders and gaining buy-in
• LEAN/Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
• Working knowledge of Llamasoft suite of modeling tools preferred
• Ability to navigate a matrixed work environment, partnering with stakeholders across various functions to deliver operational and financial commitments

Position Summary

The Director of Operations reports to Vice President of Operations, and is responsible for motivating, developing, and leading a team of 6 direct reports and 100+ indirect reports.

The Consumer Health Logistics Center will be a new facility and the Director will be responsible for facility design, project management and building a new team to support the operations.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

New employees are eligible for a $5,000 bonus; with $2,500 paid on the first payroll, and $2,500 paid upon completion of six (6) month introductory period from hire date.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Experience / Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, architecture, or directly related field

• Master’s Degree preferred

• 8 + years of experience

Knowledge: 

• General proficiency in MS Office products

• Knowledge of Accela, SharePoint, EADOCs, GIS, INFOR, Innovyze modeling products, considered a plus

Abilities: 

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and Aurora Water contractors

• Multi-task; manage projects

• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

• Analyze and compile technical information and reports

• Evaluate and interpret a variety of asset data

Skills: 

• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills

Licenses and Certifications:  

• Professional Engineering License.  If not in the State of Colorado, the ability to obtain within 6 months.

• Colorado driver's license with a good driving history

WORKING CONDITIONS

Essential Personnel:

• When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the City, all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel.

Physical Demands: 

• Sedentary physical work requiring the ability to lift a maximum of 10 pounds

• Occasional lifting, carrying, walking, and standing

• Vision sufficient to read computer screens, printouts, and related documents

• Dexterity to operate a computer system and other related equipment

• Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens

• Endurance sufficient to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time

 
Work Environment: 

• Works in a clean, comfortable environment

• The work environment will occasionally include field visits to Aurora Water facilities (treatment facilities, pump stations, tanks, reservoirs, etc.)

Equipment Used: 

• Operates a motor vehicle; survey equipment; measuring equipment such as tapes, levels and micrometers, camera and personal computer. 

• This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment.

Management Level:

This position is primarily responsible for accurately tracking and recording incoming and/or out-going shipments, preparing documentation as required, communicating with guards on incoming tractors/trailers, ensuring trailers are in doors in timely manner, coordinating trailer moves with yard jockey, maintaining and verifying the yard map, ensuring yard checks are completed at appropriate times, data entry for WMS system, answering phone calls and attending to the driver window, training other team members in SRC position, responding to pertinent emails, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of 1-year related experience in transportation/trucking/distribution industry preferred.

Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.

Communication Skills: Excellent and verbal communication skills.
