Incumbent will perform a variety of work involving the operation of motor vehicles in support of the maintenance and repair of roadsides including roads, culverts, bridges, guardrails, etc. Operate diesel and gasoline powered motor vehicles and heavy equipment which typically have a gross vehicle weight of more than 26,000 pounds and up to 32,000 pounds; vehicles are usually equipped with air brakes. Operate vehicles, including dump trucks and trash truck, in all kinds of weather over rough terrain, in close quarters, and in heavy traffic. Duties include crack sealing, asphalt patching, refuse/recycling collection, transporting material, and loading trucks with front end loader and/or backhoe. Operate tractors with attached flail and sickle bar mowers to cut grass and brush on shoulders, ditches, and cut banks alongside park roads. Perform operator maintenance on all vehicles operated according to manufacturer and park standards. Complete minor repairs and preventive maintenance of equipment. Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, raking, cleaning drainage ditches, picking up litter, etc.

• Digs ditches and trenches with pick and shovel where soil is hard and compact and must grade or slope; occasionally breaks up pavement, soil, or concrete; mixes and pours concrete, asphalt, and hot/cold mix; fills and levels holes in damaged roads. Moves heavily loaded wheelbarrows and hand trucks; uses heavy type power mowers including adjusting blades, cleaning and oiling. Cuts trees and heavy vegetation with axe, chainsaw, or powered brush cutters; stacks heavy logs, lumber, and sacks of cement, etc., or performs other duties requiring similar judgment and comparable physical effort.
• Performs janitorial duties for buildings and grounds when required.
• Operates and performs minor operator maintenance on light duty motor vehicles such as pickup trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, carryalls, sedans, crew cab pickup trucks, which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of up to 4500 kilograms (10,000 pounds). Vehicles are driven on the basis of either specific trip assignments or regularly established schedules and standard routes to transport personnel, supplies, materials, or equipment and tools throughout the park under limited traffic conditions at low speeds.

This Lead Transportation Security Officer position is located at Wilmington International Airport (ILM), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Lead Transportation Security Officer (LTSO), you will be responsible for leading at least three full-performance level Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) and, as assigned, trainee and apprentice level TSOs. • Providing input to supervisors and managers concerning a variety of human resources matters including, but not limited to, employee performance, promotions, reassignments, awards, etc.
