This Distribution Supply Technician will report to the Field Staff Supervisor and will work within Network Operations based in Luton /Stevenage area. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £37,165 per annum and a bonus of 3%.
Salary increases to £43,675 per annum once the individual has attained HV switching OH and U/G

Job Purpose:
As part of a dynamic team, you will manage the fast initial response to 'no supply' calls and other abnormalities which occur on the Distribution System.
Principal Accountabilities:

Ensure rapid and safe response to emergency calls as directed by Network Operations or local office.

Provide regular updates via verbal or mobile electronic hand held devises following procedures.

Provide and accurate information on fault conditions, carry out initial fault location and liaise with local staff on repairs.

Investigate voltage complaints and instal test equipment.

Carry out Authorised Person (AP) duties.
Nature and Scope:
You will demonstrate a responsible and safe approach to unplanned hazardous situations. You will deal with members of the public, emergency services and local authorities when representing UK Power Networks in emergency situations.
They will work as part of a team covering a shift rota pattern for the period 7:00am to 11:00pm and the rota pattern (will include standby cover but not contractual). The successful candidate, where required by the Company to undertake operational standby duties these standby duties will be a contractual commitment on a permanent basis. It is expected that you will commit to standby duties permanently unless formally agreed by our organization in view of health or personal reasons.
Qualifications:
You will preferably be authorised for 11KV switching and LV Linking, it is also possible that they will have developed metering skills. All of this will have been gained from experience as a Distribution Craftsperson, along with knowledge of fault investigation procedures.
You will likely be qualified up to a minimum of C&G 2339, formally 232, or equivalent, up to ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
