Serves as a Staff Support Specialist (MSS-1) at a Terminal facility. Responsible for tactical, strategic, and administrative support of multiple program areas such as training, quality control, quality assurance, traffic management, airspace and procedures, plans and programs, operational automation, military operations, special and security operations, safety management system, safety reporting and other areas of specialty identified collaboratively at the local level. The work requires a comprehensive knowledge of the ATC field and familiarization with the many integral components of the industry which comprise the National Airspace System. Specialists must have the ability to apply this knowledge to the analysis, evaluation and development of new methods, studies, approaches, and procedures. The Staff Support Specialist must be knowledgeable of agency wide programs, facility goals and objectives. Must be able to communicate clearly and tailor their message to the target audience. While not required, hardware/software experience is desirable. Some travel will be required. For the assigned Facility/Duty Location, performs daily functions of maintaining and or improving operational material and or resources within the assigned area(s) of specialty. Communicates intra / inter facility as well as among various lines of business and industry. Makes recommendations for new projects/studies, taking into account available resources and the accomplishment of facility goals and objectives. Applies expertise toward the completion of projects/studies and facility reports. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of equipment, facilities, and procedures. Conducts investigations, evaluations, and briefs facility personnel. Develops methods to improve customer service and the quality of support provided. Collaborates freely among facilities, provides feedback and consults with other Staff Support Specialists regardless of duty location. May perform duties outside of the facility commensurate with grade and experience. Depending upon facility structure, reports to an assigned MSS-2, 3 or 4, who provides administrative direction for facility assignments, in terms of broadly defined missions or functions within areas of specialties. The incumbent is responsible for planning, designing and completing work assignments independently. Results of the work are technically authoritative and are normally accepted without change. Work is evaluated in terms of results achieved and effectiveness in assigned program areas.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Possessing Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement is required for the position.
• Receiving work assignments and direction regarding work methods, procedures and schedules from either the Transportation Coordinator and/or the Mobility Manager.
• Operates a wheelchair lift and ramp, including the proper use of vehicle device restraint/lock down mechanisms to safely transport wheelchairs, motorized wheelchairs and scooters.
• Arriving at and departing from pickup and discharge points at scheduled times.
• Safely transport patients in a manner that minimizes disruption to personnel and ensure maximum comfort during travel, prevents shock, ensures freedom of breathing.
• Reading installation maps and judges road/traffic conditions to determine the shortest and safest route.
• Enforcing passenger safety and seatbelt use.
• Using multiple variations of Mobile Data Computer (MDC) in and out of the vehicles for assigned trips and duties daily.
• Loading and unloading patients and medical supplies.
• Performing operator maintenance such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing of vehicles, and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation.
• Maintaining records and document actions, such as operator inspection checklists/forms and accident/incident reports.
• Using two-way radios (or other device) to maintain communications with dispatcher/supervisor on assignments and locations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to maintain, troubleshoot, remove, repair, install, certify, test and perform operational checks on the turboprop engines, propellers, and associated propulsion system components.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Air National Guard. The major duties include, but are not limited to:

• Removes, installs, certifies, repairs, modifies, overhauls, and installs turboprop engines, reduction gear boxes, turbine modules, compressor modules, auxiliary power units, propellers and related propeller components as required.
• Modifies engines, propellers, auxiliary power units, and components in accordance with Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) directives; removes and installs engine quick change kits; prepares engines for installation and installs engine and propeller assemblies on aircraft.
• Performs operational checks of installed propellers, engines, auxiliary power units and sub-systems during aircraft maintenance ground runs in accordance with approved checklists.
• Performs isochronal and special evaluations on engines, propellers and auxiliary power units.
• Performs aircraft full power runs and complete engine and propeller efficiency checks.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work assignments are performed indoors and outdoors in inclement weather; on icy, wet, and slippery ramps, aircraft surfaces, work stands; and in extreme temperature and humidity. The incumbent is subject to dangers from toxic fumes, dust, dirt, grease, lubricants, paints, and solvents. Dangers also involve high-pressure air and fluids, and fast actuating metal aircraft surfaces such as landing gears, speed brakes, and flaps. Work assignments are subject to engine noise, heat blast, intake suction, rotating propellers, explosive munitions, electrical voltage, cartridge actuating devices, liquid oxygen, and flammable and explosive aircraft fuels, etc. There is frequent exposure to the possibility of cuts, burns, electrical shock, strains, and bone fractures.

JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to administer, schedule, and conduct flight and ground training which develops, upgrades, and evaluates the skills of loadmaster aircrew members; to perform aircrew duties as instructor loadmaster in the unit type aircraft and to perform related staff support duties; to train crewmembers in these duties.

This position is located in the logistics section of a Battalion (Bn) or Squadron (Sqdrn) size unit of the Army National Guard. The purpose of this position is to function as the primary assistant to or to function as the senior logistics full time member of the organization. Under the direction of the Officer in Charge (OIC), Logistics Officer, or Commander, this position oversees and ensures the accomplishment of work performed in the area of logistics.

Duties and Responsibility:

1. Incumbent is responsible to provide technical guidance to subordinate units, the headquarters logistics section, or other staff sections concerning logistics and maintenance management. May provide supervision and guidance to full time personnel in the logistics section of the organizational headquarters. Schedules and provides proficiency training for logistical personnel within the command. Plans and provides guidance for the implementation of current and future equipment authorization documents. Performs oversight and random reviews of subordinate unit expendable/durable requisitions.

2. Assists in the development of command logistics policies. Consolidates and inputs unit level logistics feeder information into the organizational readiness report. Prepares logistics plans for scheduled training and deployments. Coordinates for the receipt and issue of billeting, equipment, and supplies for training.

3. Is the Commander's primary technical specialist regarding food service operations. Reviews and forwards subsistence requests and consumption reports. Responsible for adjusting the scheduled meal menus. Reviews AT and IDT food service records and issues necessary guidance to logistical and food service personnel. Coordinates for higher level food service assistance. May be required to serve as a member of a food service menu board. Forecasts, prepares requests, and coordinates receipt of bulk and package petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL).

4. May be required to coordinate with local officials, service organizations, etc., for a variety of purposes: armory security coordination with police, rental of the armory, organizational participation in celebrations, and to provide public information about the National Guard. May attend meetings as a representative to coordinate employer and civic support for National Guard activities.

5. May be required to support recruiting activities to assist in maintaining the organization at authorized strength by establishing personal contacts and maintaining effective working relationships with strength management personnel and key leaders of the community. May coordinate the equipment requirements to support school activities such as "career days" for the purpose of informing individuals and groups of the benefits of belonging to the National Guard.

6. May plan, organize and assign work to employees engaged in logistical work assigned at the command level. Provides technical assistance and guidance to organizational logistics employees. Revises assignments or details employees to other duties as necessary to meet changing work situations, deadlines, or priorities.

7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Required Skills and Experience

• A Chartered Engineer with a university degree, coupled with in excessive of 15 years experience in Civil Engineering design.
• Excellent technical skills in the design of highways, streets, and transportation projects.
• Commercial and financial acumen.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of representing the company with clients and external parties.
• Experience of traffic network analysis is desirable but not essential.
