We are seeking a reliable and professional candidate to join our team. This role involves working Tuesday to Saturday, primarily performing trunking work and assisting with the transhipment of goods at our Cullompton Yard.

Job Description

Logistics People are actively hiring skilled HGV Drivers / HGV Class 1 Drivers / LGV Drivers / LGV Class 1 Drivers / Class 1 Drivers for ad-hoc positions at our ESL Leicester depot. This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the biggest names in the HGV industry, operating the latest vehicles on the market and gaining the best driving experience available.

Requirements:

• 6+ months UK HGV Class 1 driving experience
• Valid HGV 1/C+E Licence
• No more than 6 points on your licence and no DD/DR convictions
• Current, valid DCPC & Tacho cards
• Familiar with Driver’s Hours, Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation, and thorough vehicle checks.
• Carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly
• Comply with on-site health and safety requirements

• Pay Rate: £16.26 - £20.74 Per hour

The position of Class 1 Day Driver involves:

• Making multi drop palletised deliveries and collections to and from businesses and private addresses around the South West.
• Loading/unloading of vehicle, ensuring load security.
• Planning route on a day to day basis.
• Complete daily vehicle checks on your company phone.
• Working closely with the network hubs.
• Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing our customers' expectations.
• Attending regular training sessions.

Essential skills for Class 1 Day Driver:

• Must have a UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
• Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
