What You Will Do:
We are seeking a consulting leader to drive growth in Guidehouse’s Energy Providers Practice through crafting, selling, and overseeing delivery of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and infrastructure resiliency opportunities to support our clients in navigating the evolving transition to a clean, distributed, and customer-centric energy system. You will lead in the identification and building of new, transformational offerings for our clients as they relate to energy system resilience. You will be responsible for identifying trends at the cutting edge of infrastructure resilience strategy, assisting with solution development, supporting associated business development activities, and managing the delivery of client engagements. You will collaborate with other Guidehouse teams and external alliance partners on activities and opportunities related to infrastructure resilience. Infrastructure resilience opportunities may include but are not limited to; assisting clients improve their restoration and reconstruction processes, evaluating extreme natural disasters as well as climate change physical risk, developing resilient investment/adaptation programs, supporting clients with cost recovery regulatory filing and stakeholder engagement, and implementing capital investment programs. You will lead opportunity pursuits, position and sell solutions, and deliver client engagements.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop/expand long-term client relationships in the South and Mid-Atlantic region that will lead to repeat business and meeting and exceeding annual sales targets
- Collaborate with Account Directors, Solutions team, and other Delivery team members to sell, close, and deliver solutions and strategies related to infrastructure and energy system resilience, covering both electric and gas utilities
- Build deep trusted advisor relationships with key client stakeholders
- Incorporate a broader range of Guidehouse offerings into infrastructure opportunities within our Energy Provider clients.
- Lead the development (architecture and design) of infrastructure resilience solutions
- Support account planning, opportunity pursuits, and engagement delivery
- Identify, analyze, and support the development of infrastructure resilience solutions and engagements
- Apply knowledge of infrastructure planning, engineering, operations, and restoration to support the design of client deliverables
- Serve as a utility risk and infrastructure resiliency subject matter expert for client workshops, sales, and delivery
- Develop methodologies to assess the economic and financial impacts of climate change risk, and to implement resiliency programs
- Contribute to thought leadership that supports Guidehouse’s growth strategy and promotes the Guidehouse brand in the utility risk and infrastructure resiliency space
- Provide mentoring to junior level staff
What You Will Need:
- US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident status (due to the nature of client engagements)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline
- 10+ years of professional work experience with utilities or utility consulting organizations (excluding internships, co-ops, and fellowships)
- Executive level utility/consulting Transmission & Distribution (T&D) experience with a deep background and understanding of infrastructure resiliency trends
- Demonstrable experience leading business development initiatives (writing proposals, identifying opportunities to expand the scope, and/or providing additional services)
- Demonstrable experience delivering operations process improvement, organizational assessments, technology assessments, and disaster response/infrastructure resilience engagements
- Demonstratable analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstratable verbal and written communication skills
- Superior interpersonal skills
- High degree of self-confidence and determination
- Demonstrable experience managing, coaching, and mentoring staff
- Proven track record managing complex projects and delivering high-quality outputs
- Ability to extract insights and meaning from qualitative and quantitative information and translate into strategic advice for clients
- Ability to travel extensively as needed
- Must currently reside or ability to relocate in the South or Mid-Atlantic US region (key Guidehouse offices in Atlanta, GA and Washington, DC Metro area)
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Advanced degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering preferred), Business Administration, Economics, Policy or Finance
- Program/Project management experience (PMP certification)
