What is the Role?

SSER have a strong pipeline of projects as part of our ambitious £12.5bn net capital investment plan. This new programme will see SSE enable delivery of over a quarter of the UK's 40GW wind target by 2030 supporting progress towards net zero.

As a Supply Chain Plan Project Manager in the Renewables business, you will be expected to manage the delivery of Supply Chain Plans or Sustainable Industry Reward proposals across development, writing, submission, and implementation, ensuring successful plans or proposals are available to support bids into relevant Allocation Rounds for CfD (Contract for Difference) and are protected for the duration of the contract. Key Responsibilities:

- Responsibility for managing project Supply Chain Development Statement (SCDS) commitments and relationship with Crown Estates Scotland (CES) and providing updates on progress at key milestones. Work closely with supply chain companies and academia to create compelling projects that support the implementation of commitments made in the ScotWind leasing application.

- Responsibility of managing the relationship between SSER and the Strategic Investment Model working group, facilitating delivery of the commitments agreed in the Collaborative Framework Charter in line with the Strategic Investment Assessment recommendations. Support the assessment of collaborative industry UK supply chain and infrastructure projects.

- Responsibility for understanding the latest UK Government policy for projects to be eligible to enter CfD Allocation Rounds with Supply Chain Plans or Sustainable Industry Reward proposal requirements and assessing the opportunities for individual projects throughout the development phase of a project. Supporting assessment of future policy consultations and lobbying efforts around these.

- Managing the delivery of a Supply Chain Plan or Sustainable Industry Reward proposals for SSE Renewables Offshore Projects through to relevant DESNZ- CfD Allocation Round or other jurisdictional requirements. Taking ownership, monitoring and ensuring delivery of the targets and actions set out in the plans for Projects and Tier 1 contractors: establishing robust monitoring and management reporting processes.

- Coordinate events such as 'meet the buyer', Supply Chain Briefing, Operations and Innovation events, working with external stakeholders and Tier 1 suppliers to maximise relevant attendance and positive outcomes.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Ideally this role would suit a person with a Supply Chain or Project Management background who has the ability to manage relationships across key stakeholders, influence decision making and meet strict deadlines.

- Knowledge of the Wind Energy Industry would be advantageous but not essential.

The role will work across a number of different business areas and you will be expected to have a broad knowledge of MRO or MSP solutions and have experience of managing group-wide supply agreements. We will be looking for you to hit the ground running and be able to implement and manage our strategic MRO solution and associated supplier contracts that support the wider Group requirements.

As Contracts Manager, you will be:

What is the Role?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Manager to join our Procurement and Commercial team, to develop and implement key procurement and supply chain solutions across a range of projects and portfolios in our Networks Transmission business.

Reporting to the Procurement and Commercial Manager (Supply Chain), the Supply Chain Manager will support project teams and business unit stakeholders by developing strategic category plans, procurement strategies and contracts, and by providing robust pre and post contract management including supply chain engagement to support business goals and objectives.

This role would suit an experienced procurement / supply chain specialist who will:

- Take ownership of specific subject area and be direct contact for Transmission customers ensuring supply chain intel is owned, developed and provided to Transmission customers in a coordinated and concise manner.

- Lead the interface between Transmission and our Category Management teams to ensure demand requirements are properly communicated to permit group wide procurement strategies and contracts, whilst collating and consolidating supply chain intelligence required for Transmission project teams.

- Ensure Transmission procurement strategies are incorporated within group-wide category plans, provide support to group-wide procurement events by coordinating Transmission information and requirements, monitor and report on procurement events and provide contract/framework information to Transmission Customers,

- For ad-hoc tendering events that are Transmission specific, undertake full range of tendering activities for events which fall within subject area. This will include the collation of tender documentation, management of tender process, commercial analysis of contract/ tender submissions, the negotiation and drafting of specific contract terms and recommending the appropriate contract award

- Undertake supply chain management activities, have oversight and ownership of supplier engagement for allocated suppliers and assist with supply chain performance management; collation of KPI data and production of KPI reports to help in assessment of supplier performance.

What do I need?

We are looking for candidates who have working knowledge of NEC conditions of contract, along with experience in developing procurement strategies, framework management and supply chain management.

- Quantity Surveying degree / CIPS or equivalent

- Experience in managing supply chain activities

- Experience of managing frameworks/contracts on significant projects or programmes of work

The role embraces three separate areas of procurement services tailored to the requirements of the SSE Thermal business unit.

The SRM Management element shall include responsibility for developing, managing and implementing productive relationships between SSE Thermal and specified suppliers who are operating on key projects and assets across the business, or who may play a strategic role in future engagement. The role holder will regularly link between the senior leadership team and their supplier counterparts with a focus on ensuring that these suppliers are meeting key deliverables such as safety, timeliness, cost and quality. They will have responsibility to review performance and recommend changes both operationally and strategically for performance to reach a desired level.

The job holder will also be responsible for managing the delivery of strategic supply chain activities within projects and linked to UK Government criteria (e.g. sustainable supply chain, development of supplier performance measures, maximise supply chain value), looking to make improvements to both policy and processes. The job holder may also interface with external parties to enhance local content, both nationally and regionally, to ensure SSEs supply chain are actively engaged with SME businesses as well as local & regional government. The role will also include aspects of supplier development, analysis of the market and key insights, and potentially supporting Business Unit future investment opportunities.

The Sustainable Procurement element allows for interaction with SSEs Group Sustainability team, Group Procurement and specifically the SSE Thermal Sustainability lead. This element of the role is to support the Front Office Thermal team in ensuring the way in which SSE Thermal procures goods, works or services is conducted in a sustainable way and supply chain risk is mitigated and minimised. The role holder will set and maintain standards and practices that incorporate sustainability within our supply chain to mirror our corporate sustainability goals.

The Standards and Assurance Management element will include provision of support to the Head of Procurement and Commercial Standards and Assurance and Standards Manager in identifying, analysing and raising awareness on key Procurement and Commercial issues and creating and maintaining high quality SSE Procurement and Commercial standards. They will also support the Procurement and Commercial Assurance Manager to deliver high quality, valued Assurance reviews and independent monitoring, identify new risks as they arise and ensure that robust and effective controls are implemented, and any actions managed through to satisfactory resolution. The job holder will also assist the Director of Procurement - Thermal with annual inputs to the SSE Thermal Letter of Assurance.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Experience in supporting strategic projects/contracts. Working knowledge of the relevant conditions of contract. Eg NEC / FIDIC / LOGIC / IChemE.

- Sourcing management/support.

- Cost and budget management, understanding the financial aspects and implications of projects.

- Contract Administration-contract structure and documentation.

- Experience of using procurement related systems e.g. Oracle, Jaggaer.

- Aware of the commercial impact of decisions and the implications on procurement processes as well as awareness of the processes relating to procurement strategy.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a Supply Chain Analyst due to the significant investment in the Transmission network, as part of the UK and Scottish governments net zero targets. Working as part of the Supply Chain team you will collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support the growth and performance of the supply chain.

The key responsibilities for the role are as follows:

- Work with key stakeholders to establish sources of data, both new and existing, to provide measurable and comparable feedback regarding supply chain performance.

- Support the development and implementation of a performance analytics platform to display up to date data which can be easily extracted for review to inform different levels of engagement and help drive better performance.

- Support the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the contractor workload report to provide up to date data regarding the volume of current and future workload compared to capacity.

- Build relationships with key supply chain companies and support implementation of engagement strategy to support the successful delivery of projects. Co-ordinate engagement and interaction with the supply chain to enable clear communication on key areas.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Quantity Surveying degree / CIPS or equivalent is desirable.

- Technical knowledge of construction and infrastructure projects is desirable.

- Previous experience as an Analyst would be advantageous, however experience as a skilled problem solver is crucial, you must be able to identify any issues and work to solve them quickly, effectively, and accurately.

- Excellent organisation and planning skills with the ability to work to deadlines and still deliver quality output whilst dealing with changing priorities and managing your own time effectively.

- The ability to ensure accurate and complete data and information exchange among various stakeholders across multiple platforms and reporting tools including Excel, SharePoint, Power BI as well as any future cost reports and / or digital systems.

- Previous experience of successfully implementing new digital solutions, for example Power BI reports.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build good, collaborative and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across varying disciplines.

We are looking for a highly numerate candidate with a good technical knowledge who can analyse and interpret numerical and asset volume data with well-developed cost management skills, ideally with experience in a commercial or costing background. Excellent IT skills are essential including knowledge of all MS Office applications.
