SUMMARY:
This position supports the Tyson Fleet Operations team by ensuring customer service while valuing safety simultaneously; communicating with drivers, customers, load planning, sales, claims, road service, and facilities; potentially, temporally filling in for fleet managers under supervision of the terminal manager; creating ad hoc reports; running errands for the department – making copies, filing etc; Based off initiative, this position offers exposure to leadership principles, safety principles, and networking opportunities across various enterprise business units. Upon graduation, successful interns will have the opportunity to transition into fulltime roles that could be open at the time.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Actively enrolled in an undergraduate program required. Incoming sophomore, junior, or senior with at least one year of school remaining required. Supply Chain, Business or Animal Science majors preferred.

Experience: Previous work experience in any field.

Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel and familiarity with Word and PowerPoint.

Supervisory: None

Special Skills: Ability to multitask; Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal; motivated self-starter; willingness to engage people.

* This internship is a year-round role where candidates are expected to work part time (20 hours/week) during the school year and full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer and breaks. This is an in-person, year-round paid internship located at our terminal in Springdale, Arkansas.

We are looking for a Supply Chain Logistics Intern to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to our Sr. Director Procurement Center of Excellence and based in Newark, DE.  This is a fully on-site, in office role.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Data collection from commodity managers on suppliers, PNs pricing, qty
• Develop master log for past & current spend
• Develop macros for auto generate charts on spend analysis, part list, cost trend
• Propose a system to work with IT to develop tool

Skills and Experience:

• Working knowledge of PC business software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Highly motivated and a self-starter
• Strong oral and written communication skills 
• Must demonstrate a bias for action and implementation
• Proven and demonstrated teamwork skills
• You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, and are successfully maintaining an above average GPA, preferably 3.0 or higher.
• This internship is scheduled to begin June 2024 and end on approximately August 2024.

Greif has a substantial spend in indirect materials and services. Our indirect spend sourcing team identify spend management initiatives and execute sourcing events across our manufacturing facilities to ensure goods and services are procured in a competitive manner that maximizes value to Greif.

leveraging our buying power and spend across categories, regions and suppliers to drive down the total cost of ownership (TCO) reducing complexity to consolidate spend through SKU/supplier rationalization driving compliance through well-defined and managed agreements with preferred suppliers monitor consumption of supplies to minimize waste

The team has a mandate to increase spend exercised in the market, increase time-to-value for the business and develop contracts that protect Greif’s interests.

Key activities:

Analyzing spend and market information for supplier RFQ’s aligned with the Sourcing 7-Step Process

Engage with Greif end-users to understand product or services specifications and/or applications

Collaborate with sourcing team to develop Request for Information (RFI) or Request for Proposal (RFP) using Greif’s ERP tools

Learn price negotiation and contracting term negotiation from members of the Sourcing team

Support special projects and process improvement initiatives

Ensure quality and timeliness in the delivery of tasks and services assigned, and make recommendations on next steps in a process or deliverable
