**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Automotive Electrical Engineer/ IoT Specialist to join our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compatibility of IoT devices with the company's platform, with a particular focus on automotive applications. This role requires a strong understanding of data formats, protocols, automotive systems, as well as proficiency in IO ports and wiring tasks. As part of the team, you'll have the opportunity to travel and utilize a company vehicle.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Collaborate with developers to test and validate IoT devices against platform requirements, with an emphasis on automotive applications.
2. Ensure adherence to data formats and protocols to maintain compatibility with the company's software platform, especially in the context of vehicle integration.
3. Conduct thorough testing of new hardware releases to verify functionality and performance in automotive environments.
4. Provide feedback to hardware providers to improve device quality and meet industry standards for automotive applications.
5. Assist installers during vehicle deployments by verifying device functionality, performing wiring tasks, and troubleshooting issues as needed.
6. Develop and maintain documentation for device testing procedures, data formats, protocols, automotive integration guidelines, and wiring instructions.
7. Stay up-to-date with the latest IoT technologies, trends, and industry developments, particularly in the automotive sector.
8. Work closely with cross-functional teams including software engineers, project managers, automotive specialists, and customer support to deliver high-quality IoT solutions for vehicle applications.
**Qualifications:**
1. Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Technology, or related field.
2. Proven experience in testing and validating IoT devices for automotive applications, with a good understanding of automotive systems, protocols, and IO ports.
3. Strong understanding of data formats, protocols, and communication technologies relevant to automotive IoT (e.g., CAN bus, OBD-II, telematics).
4. Proficiency in performing wiring tasks and connecting IoT devices to vehicle systems using appropriate IO ports.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues in automotive environments.
6. Familiarity with cloud-based IoT platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub) is a plus.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including automotive engineers and developers.
8. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance in automotive IoT solutions.
**Additional Functions:**
1. Collaborate with product management to identify new features and enhancements to the IoT platform, with a focus on automotive applications.
2. Support pre-sales activities by providing technical expertise and participating in customer demonstrations or presentations related to automotive IoT solutions.
3. Contribute to the development of IoT-related documentation, tutorials, and knowledge base articles for internal and external use, with a specific emphasis on automotive integration.
