Transport Manager – Dandenong South, VIC
Kogan People Solutions are pleased to be working with a highly regarded logistics and transport company based in Dandenong South, Victoria. With over 20 years’ experience, this successful business provides a one-stop solution for all transport and logistic requirements for their valued local and regional customers.
Our client can store products and optimise their clients’ warehouse management by providing a reliable 3rd party logistic service. Packages are delivered in a timely and safe manner and the business is committed to going the extra mile to become their clients’ trusted partner for all their freight courier, transport and logistic requirements.
The role:
The new Transport Company Manager will direct, plan, and organise all transportation procedures for the company. This includes directing and communicating with transportation vehicles to ensure safe and on-time deliveries for all their customers. The role is full time, and ongoing.
Responsibilities:
• Own the day-to-day operations of our transport services – this includes input into fleet strategy matters and customer relationships and retention.
• Managing the order process to ensure the smooth scheduling of customer deliveries (dispatching routing and tracking).
• Together with the management team and staff, formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
• Ensuring company compliance of all transport policies, legislation, and procedures.
• Organising vehicle checks and identifying/resolving operational issues, ensuring that all transport fleet vehicles are properly maintained and serviced.
• Arranging for the induction and training off all new staff.
• Appraising staff performance and taking disciplinary measures when required.
• Maintaining accurate business and administrative records.
• Responsible for all OH&S documentation training and investigations
About you:
• Relevant post-secondary qualifications to at least Diploma level or agreed substitute.
• At least two years (preferably more) of relevant work experience since you earned your qualifications.
• Knowledge of road transport legislation across all Australian jurisdictions.
• Be a highly regarded people manager.
• Track record of success, acting on opportunities to improve business outcomes.
• Strong analytical and financial skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
• Solid work ethic and time management skills.
• Unrestricted rights to work in Australia on a full-time basis is essential.
