More detail about the role: You should be a highly motivated individual, with good physical fitness and a strong work ethic. Training will be given for all driving schedules. We have a delivery network covering Cornwall to Wiltshire. We operate a 7 day a week service 365 days of the year, providing goods to Hospital settings, delivering items such as post, medical supplies and pathology supplies. The position reports into a member of the Non-patient transport Leadership Team. Previous applicants need not apply. Join the team supporting our Out Of Hours services across the Devon region and play your part in ensuring better healthcare for your local area. We are specifically looking for Evening and Weekend Drivers in the Exeter As the largest independent provider of NHS services, Practice Plus Group is delivering a new model of Integrated Urgent Care that reduces pressures on services and staff. By bringing together NHS 111 call centres, clinical assessment and other urgent care services, we enable patients to access the right care, when they need it. Its better for everyone. As an Overnight Driver, youll chauffeur GPs and nurses to and from patients homes typically when theyre unable to see their usual clinician. This is not an emergency service and you will need to follow all the normal rules of the road. It will be part of your role to ensure the safety of our clinicians and medical equipment, so you may be asked to escort them to the patients front door. Youll also be expected to keep vehicles appropriately maintained, and at times youll need to communicate with the public, as well as the team back at base. This a permanent position to cover our Evening and Weekend sessions for our Out of Hours GP service, this will include Evenings across the weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.

As the department is a critical part of an Emergency Service, the post holder will be required to work between the hours of 0700-1900 (spilt into 4 different shift times and various shift lengths). The post holder must also be prepared to work their share of weekends and public holidays (currently this is 3 weekends every 13 weeks and approx. 2-4 public holidays per year). Weekend and public holiday shifts are 0700-1700 and attract an additional payment when worked. The shift patterns provide an excellent work life balance with good time off both at weekends and during the week.
