The work carried out by this position engages in the collection, evaluation, and analysis of intelligence information used for projecting data and/or estimates of future situations, developing trends and patterns, and producing studies and tactical data. This position starts at a salary of $103,409.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $134,435.00 (GS-13, Step 10).

In this position you will serve as an expert in the planning, evaluating, discussing and testing of intelligence information. Your duties will include:

• Contributing to short- and long-term planning through in-depth research and analysis regarding threats to border security.
• Identifying intelligence gaps and assisting with the development of associated essential elements of information required to satisfy and close the intelligence gaps.
• Compiling, collating, extrapolating, and exploiting information from CBP databases, open source reporting, intelligence community, and law enforcement systems and databases in support of CBP border security operations.
• Identifying, reviewing, and evaluating large volumes of sensitive and complex information in support of strategic, operational or tactical operations. Assuming primary responsibility for the completion of long-range and broad-scope analytical products.
• Using established intelligence techniques to analyze data from a variety of sources to develop targets, trends, patterns, profiles, estimates, and studies in support of CBP operational and mission success.

As a Biological Science Technician your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Participating in multi-faceted wildlife studies, including carrying out a variety of research and survey methods, analyzing established data, and monitoring environmental elements related to conservation, management, and/or control of wildlife.
• Surveying and observing avian populations, looking for abundance, behavior, habitat, sex and age structure, and seasonal movements.
• Assisting in collecting data on hatchery populations to study health and propagation methods.
• Participating in multi-faceted plant studies, including carrying out a variety of research and survey methods, analyzing established data, and monitoring environmental elements such as temperature, humidity, etc., and how it impacts plant health.
• Surveying locations for invasive species populations and working with biologists to outline a plan to minimize or remove invasive species.

• You will provide training and supervision to students at NDACS (Navy Drug and Alcohol Counselor School) and assist in the development, evaluation, and revision of the NDACS curriculum.
• You will manage the Clinical Preceptorship Program (CPP) contract.
• You will train select personnel as drug and alcohol counselor interns.
• You will serve as the Board Administrator of the U.S. Navy Certification Board (USBCB).
• You will liaison with the Contracting Officer and the principal contractor.
• You will maintain the certification database for all SARP Counselors including command, location, and certification dates.

• You will serve as a Physical Science Technician in the Radiological Monitoring Division, RADCON Office of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
• You will take charge of response to radiation related emergencies and incidents.
• You will calculate actual or anticipated consequences of occurrences and worst possible consequences.
• You will ensure adherence to radiological control requirements for assignments which involve numerous processes in several high-skill level trades.
• You will investigate deficiencies or accidents and determine causes and ways to prevent recurrence.

• You will serve as a Physical Science Technician in the Radiological Monitoring Division, RADCON Office of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
• You will monitor and control several phases of refueling and primary systems components replacement.
• You will observe nuclear propulsion plant work processes, control radioactive material, and control radiation exposure and radioactive contamination.
• You will ensure appropriate corrective mitigating action is taken in the event of a radiological control casualty situation.
• You will determine causes of deficiencies or accidents and recommend ways to prevent them.
